KARAN'S POV

As soon as we entered inside, almost every single man started staring at Tejasswi and I was feeling possessive at that moment. I wanted to rip of their skins and pull out their eyes from their sockets.

I pulled her towards me possessively and found that she was also shifting her weight from one foot to another due to weird looks of those bastards. She was looking very uncomfortable. Am I imagining things or was she really uncomfortable?

Whenever someone approached her and kissed her knuckles, she looked at me uncomfortably. I was burning with rage from inside but plastered a cold and unbothered look on my face.

After some time when Om approached me and asked about her, I was getting jealous of him too. Even though I was sure that he was my best friend since childhood and he was the man who can be trusted blindly but he was talking to her sweetly and it was bothering me a lot.

When Om excused himself to welcome his other guests, I told Tejasswi to stop her flirting and she looked clueless of my words. That sad look again returned to her eyes and I don't know why I felt bad and wanted to take my words back but I got a call so I excused myself to answer the call.

I was talking on the phone when I looked at her and she was looking here and there like a scared deer who is trying to save himself from lion's hold.

She was scared and I could feel her shivering under everyone's gaze. Every single man was looking at her like they will swallow her if they get the chance. Their eyes were scanning her body shamelessly and my blood boiled after looking at the scene

I don't know why I felt like that at that moment but I wanted to be her safe place. She even tugged her hand around mine when everyone was looking at her with their filthy eyes when we just came to the party.

I came out of my trance when the person on the call tried to say something again and I finished talking to him as soon as possible because the first thing I wanted to do was to go and protect her.

As soon as I ended the call, I reached behind her and heard her shallow breathing and observed her gestures which were clearly showing that how much uncomfortable she was at that moment.

She was fidgeting with her fingers and her eyes were fixed on the floor. I placed my hand on her back and she gasped as soon as my fingers touched her back.

She turned to look behind and I looked into her eyes and found her on the verge of crying. She was scared and as soon as she realized my presence, all of a sudden the creases which were visible on her forehead just few seconds ago, vanished and she ran into my arms and hugged me tightly.

I was so shocked due to her sudden action because I wasn't expecting that from her but when I felt her shivering, I understood that she was more than scared and needed a hug to feel secure and safe.

I was happy to see that I was her safe place and she hugged me in front of everyone. I hugged her back even tighter to let her know that she is safe with me and glared at every single person who made her uncomfortable as hell.

As soon as I wrapped my arms around her, she started melting into my arms and started sobbing.

Karan: Are you okay? What happened all of a sudden?

I asked her while rubbing her back and she didn't say anything just kept sobbing like that and I pat her head to calm her down.

After few minutes, she stopped crying and I broke the hug and looked at her. Her eyes were red and puffy and few hair strands were covering her face. I removed those strands and tugged them behind her ears and she looked at me.

I wiped her tears and cupped her cheeks and made her look into my eyes.

Karan: What happened? Why are you crying?

Tejasswi: I..I was scared Y..you left me alone and I..I was scared because I..I was standing here and everyone w..was staring at me. I was..I was feeling uncomfortable and unsafe....

Karan: Shhh, stop crying. I'm here, okay? I will not leave you alone again. I will be by your side for the rest of the night, okay?

Tejasswi: Please don't leave me.

Karan: I won't.

Tejasswi: Thank you.

Karan: Now stop crying and go wash your face and fix your hairs, I'll wait for you here, okay?

Tejasswi: O...Okay.

She was looking beautiful even after crying because she wasn't wearing any makeup rather than lipstick only but her red puffy eyes were enough reason to tell everyone that she was crying and she can't be walking around like this when paparazzi will be here to take the pictures of the models and businessman's and I didn't want to let anyone see her in this state.

After few minutes later,she came back from the restroom and looked at me and I held her hand and looked at her. Her eyes were still had few tears but she was looking better than before and we went towards the bar to take a drink.

I ordered my whiskey and she ordered juice for her. I started drinking the whiskey while she took small sips of her juice. I was stealing glances from her while she was so focused thinking something and I felt something strange inside my heart after looking at her.

Was it something real or just an effect of alcohol?
