Like this 19 years passed after the deadly war. Parikshit also grown under the training of Arjun and pandavas and affection of his grandmothers. Dhritrastra, Gandhari, Kunti, vidur and Sanjay retired to the forest. Vidur and Sanjay already passed away. Bhabruvahana returned to his kingdom with his wife but Ulupi and Chitrangada was staying here to fulfill their responsibilities.
Subhadra's pov,
A small hut inside the forest was burning. A man and two woman was inside and they were also burning......
The sister of Krishna was sleeping but her not so peaceful sleep was interrupted by a bad dream and she woke up with a sudden jerk. That scenario was still in her mind and she was sweating looking here and there.
Some maids came to her by running. "Princess! Are you fine?"- One of the maid asked. Subhadra looked at the maid and saw her whole chamber. Subhadra took a deep breath understanding it was a bad dream only. Subhadra looked beside and Arjun was not there. But where is he?
Subhadra: I am fine. Where is senapati Arjun?
Maid: He is at the practice arena with Rajkumar Parikshit.
Subhadra nodded and maids left the place. Subhadra walked to her balcony and the sun already rose. She was late today as she couldn't sleep at night properly because of some weird thoughts.
A strange feeling was still in her heart. After the Kurukshetra war, nightmares were not new for her. But today..... Her heart was telling something is going to happen.
She came outside of her chamber and maximum chambers were empty. She was walking and passing through those empty chambers and many memories were there. She went to the chamber of the mother of mighty pandavas. Everything was like before. The fireborn empress herself cleaned her mother in law's chamber everyday after her departure also. Subhadra walked inside and smiled. Everything was there without her mother figure mother in law. She still could get her fragrance here. In this chamber, she passed many nights with her mother in law who was never less than her own mothers. It won't be wrong if someone says the mother of mighty pandavas loved her daughter in laws more.
Subhadra's POV,
I still can remember that cursed night when my Abhimanyu left me. My husband, sisters, brothers all were failed to console me but not my mother in law. I found the comfort in her mother in law's arms. Maybe, she couldn't accept her eldest son but was she wrong? Wasn't it our society which made her to take such step. This society which is talking against her when the truth came to the light but would they support if she would accept her that son?
Sometimes, I hardly believe that Karn was mata Kunti's son and elder brother of pandavas. I don't feel to call Karn as kaunteya as his name can taint my mother in law and husband. Many will say situation made him like this. But is it true? Was his situation so bad? If mata kunti would accept him, then his situation would be bad. He led a luxurious life than pandavas. Then which struggle he did? He was the one who left guru Dronacharya's ashram out of envy to my husband. But still he tried to gain sympathy only. But it was my husband and his brothers with their mother who struggled in real meaning.
Then I went to the chamber of the unfortunate mother of the kauravas. Maybe she will be the reason behind the destruction of my paternal kingdom but I can't hate her. I can understand her pain. She lost her 100 sons and her beloved daughter also got widowed. This kind of behavior was expected and what she got in her life without grief. Her husband was blind from heart also.
Suddenly, I heard Uttara's voice and realized my eyes are wet. I wiped them hurriedly and looked at her. She told that Draupadi called me and told her to check if I am fine.
I smiled and think maybe she is my co wife but not less than a elder sister. Today I was really late and that's why maybe she got worried.
I went with Uttara and greeted my sister's but Jiji Draupadi was lost to her thoughts. I asked and she told that she is having bad vibes.
At that time,
A soldier came and informed us something what we never wished to hear.
