Subhadra's POV,

Then a soldier came with the news what we never wished to hear even in our nightmares too though it was the universal truth. Death is inevitable. A person who comes in this earth have to go also. We all know this truth but is it too easy to accept it? Who had this dare who can accept his someone very own's departure in a moment? And that too when his beloved mother who carried him 9 months in womb and loved him selflessly.

All the pandavas came inside of the palace by running. King Yudhisthir dismissed his Sabha. I was too numb to react. I was still unable to believe that our mother figure left us. I looked at pandavas. Now no guardian left for them. Bhrata Yudhisthir was trying to maintain his calmness but what was going through him we already can understand. Then I looked at the 2nd kaunteya who is an ardent follower his elder brother and shield for the loved ones was also trying hardly not to show his tears. I looked at my husband who was favourite son of rajmata Pritha. His face was expressionless. Obviously, now he is habituated seeing dead bodies of own people. When he was just a child, he had seen his father's dead and the princess of Madra who was his first teacher also decided to accompany her husband. Then his guru Dronacharya, Pitamaha Bhisma left him. Even he had seen the death of his own 3 sons. How much pain this man had endured but still at the end of day he is always questioned for his greatness. I know what is going through him but how can I forget he is expert in bottling up emotions. Maybe his tears will flow freely in the darkness of the night. Maybe, the darkness can't take his pain but will hide it.

I looked at the sons of Madri who were Kunti's son more and Rajmata Pritha also never differentiate between her sons. It won't be wrong if someone says she cared for them more and they were more attached to their mother. Their eyes were red and they were looking down and making unsuccessful attempts to hide tears unlike 3 kaunteyas.

Draupadi, the fireborn empress, also was like her 3rd husband only. She already had seen the death of her father, brothers, sister and sons. Mata kunti was not less than a mother for her who stood by her side every time. Maybe she was more broken inside hearing this but not showing it. Obviously she was the eldest among us and if she will break down who will stand for the family strongly?

Ulupi and Chitrangada Jiji were standing quietly as usual. It doesn't mean they didn't have the sorrow of losing their mother figure mother in law.

And if it's about my feelings then how can a daughter feel losing her mother? Can some words express a daughter's grief? She was not only my mother in law but the one who inspired me. The one who became my strength in difficult times.

A weird silence were inside of the whole palace. No one was speaking. Even one can hear each other's breath too. When, the grief is more people neither cries nor express. Pandavas didn't loss only their mother but their aunt and uncle too. The princess of Gandhara was always a affectionate mother for all of us. King dhritrastra did many mistakes but when he understood his mistakes, it was too late. It was difficult for him to accept the killers of her sons but still he tried his best to do that and pandavas also served him like own father.

Samrat Yudhisthir broke the silence and told that he is going to that place where that fire broke out and they died. Other pandavas, Draupadi Jiji and me also decided to accompany him. Though we know we can't get their a part also as everything has burnt but we have to collect their ashes to do last rites.
