"What are you doing here?" You asked, surprised to find that his hand was warm, yet his touch didn't burn on your waist.

"Oh, me? Eh, as I said yesterday, I hate maths. I don't want to sit in a class where Maths is taught. Also, don't worry about this..."

He patted the side of your belly, where his hand was.

"Doesn't hurt through clothes."

"You'll get in trouble if you're caught here."

"I don't care much for it. Besides, what's the worst that could happen? Expulsion? I'd be over the moon."

He laughed. You hated that he's taking all this so lightly.

"Expulsion isn't a joke, Ajax. Some people really struggle to get a proper education." You scolded.

"And some people, like me, struggle to have a normal life. I mean, come on! Tell me something more unfair than having to eventually be killed by a cute girl or be blamed for the destruction of the planet."

He waited for your answer, which is silence.

"So when I slack off, don't tell me that I'll get in trouble again. I know I will, I'm here for it. I'm willing to live the final stage of my life as I like, my friend."

"We aren't friends. Keep that in mind." you spoke sharply.

Taking into account his other speech, however, you looked at the floor. To be fair, he had a point. He turned around and flexed his shoulder blades, getting ready for another dive into the pool.

"What was that just now, anyway?" you questioned, stepping forward. "One moment, you were on one side of the pool, and the next, you were here."

The more you tried to push him away, the more curious you got.

"That's called superhumanity, girlie. Watch this."

In one movement, his body seemed to glide into the blue waters, and he didn't even lift a single leg or arm to propel himself. The waters didn't control him.

He controlled the waters.

You watched, jaw slack, as he moved at lightning speed around the pool, as it seemed to make a path for him. He didn't clamber out at the other side, he just sort of shot up and landed on his feet, shaking the water out of his hair.

"Cool, am I right?" he called from over his shoulder.

One thought was spinning through your head.

Could you... do this with fire?

Ajax changed and we made your way to your next class hurriedly, which was Science. He had carelessly dried his hair off with a towel, leaving it sticking up at all angles.

"At least put a brush through it..." you sighed. At this rate you were going to be late.

"I don't have one."

Noticing that you were looking at him like he was a disgrace, he ran his fingers through the tangles, blushing. His fringe was sloppy, not as perfect as it was yesterday.

"Here..." you offered. You handed him a hairband.

"... What am I supposed to do with this?"

You reached up and bundled his hair in one fist, and wrapped the band around it with the other.

"There."

"I look like an idiot."

"Less of an idiot. You just look like you're trying to goof around, not looking like you haven't brushed your hair."
