You'd realised soon enough that a week had passed and you still haven't made an attempt on Ajax's life. Or even planned to. Out of pure frustration of what had occurred over the weekend, you swiped the kitchen knife off the counter and tucked it in the band of your skirt. Obviously, knives and other sharp objects and weapons weren't allowed in school, but you were sure Principal Allens would let you off due to your rather demanding task.

It was a Wednesday now, and the past few days have gone by in a blur. They were ordinary days, Elio being his usual goofy self, Mura being your mom, and Ajax always one step behind you.

The girls in your year would never shut up about him.

"Have you seen him? Oh, he's just gorgeous! I wonder if I can ask him out, or is it too soon?"

"I heard he's now the captain of the swim team! Oh, that's just so hot! I'd be his personal cheerleader wherever he goes!"

You rolled your eyes, listening to their early morning chatter. Ajax bustled in, whistling a harmonious tune as he dropped beside you.

"Hello there, Y/N! You haven't been yourself lately, have you?"

At this point, you'd known Ajax for one week. You've grown accustomed to his presence, and to be honest, you quite enjoyed it too.

"Is there anything on your mind...?" he whispered. Some of the girls around you started muttering.

"What the hell's he talking to Y/N for...?"

"Isn't she like, the class outcast? She literally just talks to Mura and that goofball Elio."

"Oh, just look at her sit like that!"

You swallowed. Ajax too seemed apprehensive of the situation at hand.

"We should... take this elsewhere." he muttered.

"I agree."

So you took your leaves, ignoring the angered girls inside.

"You seem to be... quite popular with the ladies..." you sighed. This only earned you a smug smirk from the ginger-haired boy.

"Hm...? Are you somewhat jealous, girlie?"

"Not at all! I was just-!"

"Not to worry, I already scanned the classroom on several occasions for a potential love interest and found my search results to be..."

He pinched his thumb and his forefinger together.

"Absolutely zero."

"You just judged them based on their looks?" you asked incredulously.

"Ah! Y/N, ow! Do you really take me for that sort of guy?"

His smirk transformed into a pout.

"I simply observed their interactions with the people around them." he told you.

"... You spied on them?"

"... You're never gonna be happy with whatever I say. Hey."

He stopped you in your tracks. The corridors were empty.

"Did you by any chance... get a visit?"

"A visit?"

Ajax nodded, and stuck his gaze to the ground.

"A visit. I've... been hearing voices lately. Well, one voice. But... it just won't let me go, you know?"

When he sees the look on your face, he laughs out awkwardly.
