"I don't understand! He's eighteen, not twenty-five!"
"Boys are weird, Naomi. Jayden is weirder."
Jayeon and Naomi were heading up to her apartment. The older had picked the filo girl up from her job and offered to drop her off home since she usually took the bus. "When are you going to find a man Jay?!" Naomi clung onto the girl, showing her extroverted tendencies, being loud as ever on the stairwell.
It was only a side Jayeon ever knew along with Naomi's family. A side she had kept hidden for so many years.
"Actually.." Jayeon took a pause, looking over her shoulder to Naomi. "I met a guy in my music-history class." she said, causing the other to gasp out loud. "Who?! Who! Who?! Whoooo?!" Naomi began to shake the taller girl side by side, almost making Jayeon loose her balance and hold onto the railing.
"Just this guy named Mark. We went to high school with him."
"I remember..!" Naomi placed a hand over her mouth. "The cute jock!" she said, teasing Jayeon as they continued up to her apartment. "The one who played like all the sports, right?" Naomi wrapped an arm around Jayeon's. "Yes that one."
"We're working on a poster together and he said the corniest thing ever. It was so embarrassing I literally laughed."
"The Kang Jayeon laughed at a guy's joke?!"
"Funny I know, but he's so corny it's actually cute. I asked him out for lunch. He agreed and he called it a lunch date so a lunch date is what i'm going on." Jayeon turned to smile at the younger girl, watching her eyes widen in glee. "I'm so happy for you!" Naomi jumped around the girl as they hit her floor.
"Thank you. I wanted to tell you first, Naomi."
"Ugh I feel so special!"
"You are." Jayeon chuckled, resting her head on top of Naomi's. "I guess i'll see you tomorrow then?" she said, entering the key into the key hole as Jayeon had a small smirk on her lips. "See you tomorrow Naomi." she shook her head, waiting for Naomi to open her apartment door.
Naomi knew Jayeon wasn't going to leave until she went inside. She opened her door, immediately being hit with a wave of confetti. She was quite surprised, hearing the voices of those familiar. "Surprise!" they said, waiting for Naomi to say something.
Jayeon waved over to the four siblings before gently pushing Naomi into her apartment. Tears were pouring out of her eyes, giving her no time to pile up. The girl fell to her knees, sobbing into the palms of her hands as each of her siblings ran to go hug her.
"Jayeon I hate you so much!"
"You love me Naomi."
Naomi clung onto each of them, realizing how much they have grown over the years she had left them.
"Jayden I thought you were on a trip!" Naomi turned to her youngest sibling, her only brother, with a red face. Jayden too, had the same face as her, tears over his cheeks as they soaked his collar. "I didn't want to lie! I missed you so much!" he pulled his sister into a tight hug, the two emotional ones out of the siblings both breaking down in each others arms.
"Okay Jayden..can we hug our sister too?!" Kami glared at her brother, sniffling as Milo attempted to hide the tears. Lila teased the second oldest, nudging her arm. Jayeon who watched also had a few tears, smiling from the joy of her friend being able to see her family.
