Naomi held hands with Injoon as they were walking down the hallway.
The boy wanted to make a trip to the restroom and dragged the older girl with him. She followed him nonetheless and waited for the five year old. Every minute she was with him, his presence reminded her of herself, but to compare, her younger self was much more different.
"Naomi! Kun says he wants you to come to his office during lunch time." said Taeyong as he passed by her in the hall, patting her shoulder when he walked by. "Okay!" she responded, glancing down at Injoon who was looking up at her. "Don't worry, lunch time isn't until another hour. You can keep drawing your butterflies." she grinned, both walking into the room.
"..mi.."
"Hm?"
Naomi glanced at the young boy another time, her eyes wide. It was the first time she'd hear him even utter a syllable. Injoon pointed at her, a small smile on his lips. "Nao..mi." he whispered, maintaining eye contact with the girl as her jaw dropped in awe. "I..Yes!" she said, her sudden outburst causing the rest in the room to turn towards them.
"Yeah! I'm Naomi!" she smiled widely which caused Injoon to follow suit. He gently held onto her sleeve as she praised him for the slightest thing ever. Saying her name. "Naomi!" Injoon rose his hands, speaking as loudly as he could. Haechan stared in amusement, watching the two smile from ear to ear.
Out of all the years he's been there and out of all the times Injoon has came over after school, it was the first time he's seen him smile.
"Joonie's smiling!" Saebi laughed, stopping what she was doing and taking the time to watch as Naomi and Injoon were giving high fives to each other. "I'm so proud of you!" Naomi said, causing the boy to become flustered. "Thank..you." Injoon said back. He spoke, but it was rare.
