With my eyes hidden behind vintage Chanel sunglasses, I lounged along the back deck overlooking the pristine Olympic swimming pool in our massive back yard. Kids running around everywhere, Chicken blaring the latest tunes through the air from the DJ booth, laughter and giggles flowing freely, I took a sip from my cognac and inhaled deeply. We've been cleared by the SEC, so things are somewhat back to normal, well as normal as things can be in the life of the Lyons.

Today's the Fourth of July, the ninth birthday of my two littlest Lyons to be more precise.

A smile washed over my face as I watched them frolic around the yard with their friends, the humid summer air swarming around me while I stood above the masses in my pink and gold Chanel gown with matching bathing suit beneath.

I can't believe the twins are nine already, my brain whispered as I turned on a swivel and strutted inside to head back downstairs.

Prancing off the elevator and towards the kitchen to check on how much longer the chef is gonna be with the cakes so we can all sing happy birthday to the boys, I took another sip from my glass.

All be it a product of my sassy mouth writing a check my ass couldn't cash after falsely accusing my husband of deception, it really only seems like yesterday that they interrupted our family barbecue with their arrival, yet here we are nine years later, and they've only filled me with happiness and joy every day since.

This celebration is a carnival themed pool party and of course Lucious spent tons of money, cuz his ass is always being extra and doing the most when it comes to our babies. He had two new mega water slides installed on the pool, a foam pit, gourmet ice cream and a funnel cake stands, an entire section of various games with prizes, laser tag, an enormous spread of various BBQ foods courtesy of Bobby Flay, and he even got Kendrick to stop through and perform because he's one of Caleb and Colin's favorite artist right now.

The yard's filled with balloon artists, a Ferris wheel, and a bumper car rink, which Lucious had put in when the slides where installed. I grinned then shook my head at the thought as a fresh sip of liquor swarm down my throat, I swear the way he spoils these kids sometimes is ridiculous.

Rounding the corner towards the massive kitchen I adjusted my shades and approached the island in the middle of the room, two enormous cakes on display as their creator finished adding gold flecks along the top of each then faced me head on.

"Afternoon Chef Francios, how are things coming?" I probed. He smiled, wiped his hands on a towel then replied.

"Afternoon Mrs. Lyon. I just pulled the cakes from the oven about thirty minutes ago and as you can see, I'm just finishing up with the final touches." He informed. "Another twenty minutes or so for them to settle and they'll both be ready to serve."

I smiled, Chef Francois is one of the best pastry chefs in the business so I know that both cakes will turn out perfectly.

"Thank you, Chef. Lucious and I really appreciate you taking the time from your hectic schedule to come and do this for us today." I tossed back while leaned against the counter.

"It's no problem at all. You and Mr. Lyon have always supported my restaurants so the least I can do is whip up two of my specialty cakes for your little munchkins." He professed.

"Alright, well I'll let you get back to it then. Just let either Juanita or Jerome know when things are ready, and they'll come get me." He nodded in response as I turned towards the back entrance to head outside with my drink in tow.

We had to have two cakes made because the twins couldn't agree on one flavor. Colin wanted a lemon cake and Caleb wanted chocolate, so thus the reason behind two. God, for them to be twins they have so many differences that it amazes me at times.
