After two blissful weeks here, tonight is our last night on the island before we head back to New York tomorrow. Everybody has been having such a great time while we've been here and even Lola's droopy mood from the first couple days of the trip has drastically brightened up.

I overheard my wife talking to Jamal last night about the status of things between he and Skye. Hell, I didn't even know that she was aware they slept together but I ain't surprised cuz Cookie's ass always seems to know everything.

Speaking of the Queen Lyon, well things have been weird with her, to say the very least. Her mood has been shifting like the wind, one minute she's up laughing and playing around then in the next, she's hitting me with the side eye and cussing my ass out. So much so that the kids have all done their best to steer clear of her as much as possible over these last six or seven days.

My attention drifted back into reality. Colin and I are coasting along the winding island streets on our way back towards the beach house. The boys and I fired up the grill earlier and prepared a massive spread of different foods, so that we can all stay in and have a family dinner, which always makes my wife happy but we ran out of a couple of things in the process, so Colin and I ran out to the store.

We were initially going out but Cooks shot that idea down with the quickness because she told me that she didn't wanna take a chance with anymore of this island food messing up her stomach since her nausea has finally started to subside a couple of days ago. I exhaled while navigating the streets, the sun hasn't quite set but it'll only be a matter of time before the darkness of the clear sky engulfs us.

"Daddy." Colin tossed up towards me from his position in the passenger seat next to me.

"Yeah, what's up?" I replied.

"Uh...ummm..." He hesitated.

"Out with it son, you know I don't like indecisiveness." I told him after a quick glance in his direction before turning my attention back onto the road.

"Well, I kinda sorta wanted to ask you a question about something but I don't want you to think that it's stupid." He told me which piqued my interest a bit.

"I'm sure it's not stupid. What's on your mind son?" I inquired while shifting the brim of my hat and sitting my shades down into the console between us as he looked up over at me.

"Well, there's this girl..." He started and I smiled as he continued, "And, she's kinda sorta older than me but I think she's really pretty and I wanna talk to her." He gushed, "But I want her to take me seriously and I don't want her to think that I'm a baby just because I'm nine." He stated.

I couldn't help but smirk, Colin's never insecure about anything, he's like his mama in that regard because there's never any challenge that he's ever been afraid to take on but all of a sudden, he's apprehensive about talking to a little girl.

"First off my boy, don't ever be afraid to go after what you want because of how you think others may feel, always follow your instincts cause they won't steer you wrong. Now, as far as this girl goes, I'm sure she knows who you are. It would be kinda hard not to in all honesty, but if you don't think you can talk to her face to face yet about how you feel why not write her a little love letter, a poem, or something like that maybe. Girls like that kinda stuff." I advised, his eyes got bright, and that smile so similar to Cookie's floated across his lips.

"You really think that could work dad?" He murmured. I stroked my chin then shifted to face him.

"Sure. I used to do stuff like that for your mama all the time when we were younger, and she loved it. You never know, she might feel the same way about you too Colin." I told him.
