Hi, I'm Lucas. I've grown up in a quiet little town my whole life. Heading to a big shot college was definitely not what I was expecting, but it was a lot of stress. Luckily, I had my family, my hometown friends, and my girlfriend, Avery. Until, well I didn't have Avery.

Let me bring you back a week before it happened.

The sun spread its rays over our little hometown that was in San Antonio, Texas. We're the stereotypical, southern, horse-ridin', whiskey shootin', cowboys. Just kidding. Although we do those things, we're pretty normal. It was the last 2 weeks of the summer, before I was off to the  Harvard Law School. Yep. You ever heard of a cowboy who's a lawyer? Exactly why I'm here. Anyways, Avery and I were hanging out in my parents fields, studying every single species of plants.

"Sweetheart, why do we have to look at these here plants. You know it's basically all dead," Lucas picked a dead piece of grass and playfully tossed it at his girlfriend.

"Hey! You silly boy. It's because it's INTERESTING. What would YOU rather do? Hmm, baby boy?" Avery grabbed a handful of dirt and chucked it at him.

He smiled shyly before shaking his head and mumbled, "Let's head back to the 4 wheeler. And I told you to quit calling me 'baby boy'. It makes me sound less manly, and that means one of the boys'll snatch you up, darlin,"

He scooted closer to her small frame and hugged her protectively. Avery started squirming and giggled, "You goofball. You're still my baby boy," she pressed a kiss against his cheek and stood up. Lucas dusted his jeans off and grumbled, "Fine. But I get to drive the 4 wheeler back. RACE YA!"

They both dashed across the field to the fence and she jumped on the 4 wheeler. Lucas eyes shown in pure adoration for this girl. Man, he loved her. He'd do anything and everything for her.

Smiling mischievously, she laughed and said, "Hop on, Mr. Harrison. You're in for the fastest ride of your life."

Lucas shook his head and replied, "Yes, ma'am, Mrs. Harrison. And I'll bet I could give you some faster rides." He brought his rough hands to her waist and held on for dear life.

She pulled back on the handles, and off they went, leaving trails of dust behind them as they drove through the fields and into the woods. Lucas let out a whoop and leaned close to her ear and said, "Girl, you scare me" and tightened his grip around her waist.

Avery's heart fluttered as she heard his husky voice in her ears. Her heart was pounding, not only from her crazy fast driving, but from his hands around her waist. She sped through trails until they ended up in the Harrison's back yard.

Lucas hopped off the 4 wheeler and picked up Avery by the waist. "Well, now Mrs. Harrison. I am never letting you drive again!"

She kept giggling and looked away, blushing. "About calling you baby boy. I'll stop if you stop calling me 'Mrs. Harrison. I'm not even you're wife yet, you goof. Now put me down!"

He hoisted her up and slung her playfully along his shoulders and then set her down gently. "Let's go inside. I need some water after that adventure," He softly kissed her on lips before drawing away and grabbing her hand. She shyly took it, and they both walked into the Harrison's house.

As a person who's from NY, idk anything about people from Texas. My aunts live there, and that's about it. I don't know much, man. Anyways, this chapter was so sweet, and made me smile :)
