4 months later!
Today was the first track meet of the season as Juliette stood in front in Ponyboy, "your gonna do great i promise" She attempted to soothe his nerves as he nodded his head.
"Me and Rebecca will cheer you on the entire time your running" She assured as he nodded his head and looked at her. "Ill be your good luck charm" she winked as he laughed and pulled her into a kiss.
"Alright" he responded as she smiled at up, "your gonna get first in all of the events you run in" she assured as he nodded his head. He hugged her took in her warmth and buried his head in her hair.
The two stayed like this until it was time for the meet to start, she gave him one last good luck kiss and waved goodbye before heading to the concession stand to get some snacks for her and Rebecca.
She grabbed two cokes, some chips, along with some candy and headed up to the bleachers where Rebecca was. "I bought us some snacks" she smiled and handed a coke to Rebecca who smiled up at her.
"I love you so much Julie" Rebecca laughed and took a sip and grabbed some of the snacks, "love you too Rebecca" Juliette laughed and opened a bag of chips. "Whens his race?" Rebecca asked while looking at her. "Not for awhile" she sighed and looked at her friend. Rebecca nodded her head and looked ahead to the track.
Ponyboys race was about to start and he was running the 200m, the announcer announced that it would be starting shortly "I really really hope he gets first" Juliette clasped her hands together as Rebecca nodded her head and watched the other runners line up. "I have so much anxiety, and im not even running" Juliette laughed as Rebecca laughed too. "Me too" Rebecca replied and ate some candy.
The official shot the gun, and she watched Ponyboy sprint ahead, he wasn't originally in the lead but he was gaining his way up there. She and Rebecca cheered on for him and clapped their hands together.
Rebecca and Juliette were on the edge of their seats as she watched him finally get into first place, and he held it all the way to the finish line.
She let a sigh of relief out and clapped her hands and cheered for him. He obviously still had other races but at least he won one of them.
"Oh thank god" Rebecca relaxed as Julie nodded her head and watched him smile triumphantly and high five his teammates which made her beam a smile.
His eyes scanned the crowd to look for his girlfriend, his eyes landed on her and waved up to her. She waved back and gave him a thumbs up and smiled at him. His heart fluttered as he watched her, Rebecca gave him a thumbs up as he smiled and nodded his head showing his appreciation.
The track meet ended as Juliette said bye to Rebecca and went down by the locker rooms to wait for Ponyboy to be done. She waited by the doors chatting with people she knew that would occasionally walk by.
Ponyboy had finally gotten finished showering and changed into sweatpants and a track sweatshirt. He walked out of the door to be greeted with Julie who hugged him, he smiled and wrapped his arms around her waist and spun her around.
"Good job!" She congratulated him and kissed his lips, "thanks julie" he thanked her and kissed her back and kept his arms around her body.
"I even pr'd today!" He told her while walking away from the school and into the direction of the diner, "im so proud of you!" She held his hand and looked at him.
"Its all because you got me to quit smoking" he rubbed the back of his neck and looked to Juliette who smiled like she'd won a contest. "Your welcome" she teased and nudged his shoulder, he laughed as they continued to walk down the sidealk until they made it to the diner.
They ordered their food and ponyboy excitedly talked about how his coach is going to move him to the varsity team instead of JV. She smiled on how excited he was about it.
They walked out of the diner hand in hand as the sun was setting, "lets go to our spot" He whispered in her ear as she nodded her head, "ill race you" he smirked and ran head as Juliette ran after him.
"Ponyboy!!" She whined as he laughed and ran ahead, they finally made it to the hill they used to always go on. She made it up there out of breath as Ponyboy was unfazed. "Are you human?" She asked wheezing as he laughed and shrugged.
"I dont know actually" he pulled her down to the ground as she let out a yelp, the sky was orange with swirls of pink and yellow. Ponyboy admired Juliette as she watched the sky in amazement.
"Julie?" Ponyboy asked as she turned her head to him, "whats up?" She asked as her fumbled with his fingers. "i love you" He blurted as her heartbeat quickened as she smiled, and tried not to squeal and giggle like a schoolgirl.
"I love you too ponyboy" she told him and kissed him, not gentle and soft like their usual kisses but this time a passionate kiss. She felt his arms hug her waist as she wrapped her arms around his neck and played with his hair.
It was known from the very first time Juliette met Ponyboy in the quiet library they both could feel the sparks fly.
