S2: The collector (pt. One)

We we're playing pool table and Adrien scored another point, I sighed in annoyance as we continued to play.

"Hey, why'd your dad make you quite school yesterday?" I asked Adrien as we played the pool table game. "I lost this one book of his.." I raised an eyebrow in curiosity, he'd seemed much more quiet now that he mentioned the book.

"What was so special about the book that your dad made you quit school?" I stopped playing the hockey game and he looked up at me with an almost hesitant look on his face. He sighed seeming to have made his decision to finally tell me.

"It was a book about superheroes.." my mind went blank once the words left Adriens mouth. 'Gabriel had a book about superhero..but why'  I thought to myself as Adrien looked at me concerned "Y/n?" I snapped back into reality and looked at Adrien with an apologetic expression.

"Sorry, I just remembered an embarrassing moment..Your dad had a book about superheroes, like chat noir and Ladybug?" He nodded.

"Yeah..he hides it behind the portrait of my mom" I listened carefully as Adrien told me the whereabouts to the book, I nodded.

"It must be pretty important if he took you out of school, temporarily at least" I asked him as we began to play the pool table again. "He said he uses it for inspiration and how it was one of the last things my mom gave to him before she disappeared."

Adrien scored another point due to my lack of focus on the game. "How'd you get caught anyways?" I asked him as I blocked his score.

"They caught me on camera with Nathalie's ipad" he sighed as he remembered the events. I nodded and stopped asking him any more questions regarding the book.

After we finished playing pool, Adrien asked if I could help him with his homework. We sat on his couch as we looked through math problems.

I couldn't really focus on anything besides that book, I just had to get it and I needed to get it now.

"I'm gonna go get use the bathroom, I'll be right back" Adrien nodded and continued to do his homework. I left his room and made my way to Nathalie's room. I gently knocked on the door but no response.

I opened the door and saw she wasn't in the bedroom but her iPad was laying on her bed. I quietly entered the room and heard the sound of a shower,

I sighed in relief realizing that Nathalie was just taking a shower and I could safely grab her iPad without any complications, unless she finishes her shower.

With that thought in mind I quickly grabbed the iPad and left the room. I went to my room and locked the door, Tikki immediately comes out of her hiding spit and looked at me confused.

"Y/n, why do you have Nathalie's iPad?" I didn't say anything as I quickly opened the iPad and scrolled through the apps. I saw a surveillance app and quickly disabled all the cameras, I went to previous videos and scrolled.

I saw the video of me entering Nathalie's room and I deleted the video, I continued to go through the videos and saw one with Adrien in his fathers office. I quickly clicked the video and zoomed in.

In the video Adrien opened the portrait of his mother and there was a safe behind it. He puts in a code but he seemed to panic as he's taking too much time, Adrien hides a little behind the portraits door and one second later the book appeared in his hand.

I sighed realizing that Adriens Kwami probably helped him in getting the book.

I quickly deleted the video of Adrien not wanting him to possibly get in trouble when they find out the book is missing, I closed the iPad and ushered Tikki to hide in my hoodie. She quickly got inside and I held onto iPad. I quickly shoved the iPad in my hoodie pocket and went downstairs.

I poked my head inside Gabriel's Agreste office and saw he wasn't there. I sighed in relief as I entered the office and closed the door.

I went to the portrait of Adriens mother, she was very beautiful to say the least. I put all my thoughts behind and opened the portrait and Tikki quickly entered the safe.

Seconds later she came out with the book in her tiny hands, I grabbed the book and heard footsteps. I closed the portraits door and took Nathalie's iPad out of my hoodies pocket and placed it on Gabriel's desk, the footsteps get louder as they get closer to Gabriel's office.

"Tikki, spots on" I whispered and seconds later I was ladybug. I quickly opened the window, used my yo-yo and swung myself out of the house.

I sighed as I detransformed, I quickly catched Tikki in my hand and she looked exhausted but also looked hopeful as she kept her eyes on the book.

"Y/n we need to go to master Fu, and quickly" I nodded. I completely agreed with Tikki but I can't leave Adrien, besides from him being worried about where I went I couldn't let him think anything suspicious was going on with me suddenly leaving the house.

"Soon..but until then I need you to hide this book in the closet with you" I handed Tikki the book,  she nodded and quickly flew to the closet where she would hide until I returned.

I sighed feeling a bit excited myself that we might be close to ending this whole akuma thing and I could finally go home. I went back to Adrien and started to help him with his homework until it was time for him to go to school.

"Master" Wayzz said concerned as he watched Master Fu meditate. Master fu said in a calming voice "she's here" Wayzz looked at the door and seconds later I appear.

"Hello, Ladybug" Master Fu smiled as I took a seat in front of him. "Hello, Master Fu." he smiled "I'm glad you decided to come to Paris after all." I nodded "when you reached out to me a while back I was certainly confused, now I know why you did so and I'm glad I was able to come before any of these akuma attacks started" Master Fu nodded.

Master Fu got up and walked to his gramophone and put in his code. The gramophone opened and revealed a black box with red markings.

"The miraculous box.." I said as me and Tikki watched as Master Fu picked up the box. "Y/n, you know that we guardians are responsible for protecting and distributing the Miraculous for the good of all humanity." The box opened and it showed all the Miraculous inside.

"We are chosen in childhood and trained for years, especially for this mission. When we were much, much younger, we..I made a mistake" I wanted to roll my eyes in annoyance, Master Fu had told me this story at least one hundred times.

"The Guardians' Temple was destroyed, all because of me. Two of the miraculous were lost that day, the butterfly and peacock. Also gone forever is the ancient spell book.."
