Valerie laid on her bed, a huge smile decorating her face as she recalled the moments when her crush, Oliver, agreed to go out on a date with her. Imagine the amount of happiness she felt when she finally registered what had happened. As if butterflies had exploded in her stomach, making her giggle at the mere thought of dating him.

Glancing at the clock on her bedside, there were still hours before their so-called date. Valerie was so excited she could hardly sleep, too busy calming down her beating heart. Sitting up, she glanced out the window; the scenery outside was beautiful, making her smile even wider as she rushed to her closet, pulling out different options for her first date.

She wanted to make it the best first date, where they both have fun. After considering several outfits, she finally settled on something cute but casual. A dress with floral designs paired with a pale yellow cardigan and matching flats.

Letting out a hum of satisfaction, Valerie got herself ready. She took a relaxing bath before drying herself. Putting on a robe, she dried her hair and tied it in a loose braid with two clips on each side of her head to keep her hair off her face.

She hummed a song while doing her skincare before putting on her chosen outfit. Standing in front of the mirror, she couldn't help but feel nervous as each passing second ticked by. Did she choose the right outfit? Is it presentable enough or too much? So many thoughts ran in her head that she didn't notice her brother barging into her room.

"Hey Val, Oliver is here." Snapping out of her thoughts, she grabbed her sling bag and headed down the set of stairs to see her date. There he stood, handsome as ever, dressed in a laid-back yet stylish manner. Oliver turned to her with a small smile, his eyes softening when he saw her.

Valerie couldn't help but blush as she made her way to him. "You look nice," Oliver said, giving her a subtle compliment that made her heart skip a beat.

"Thank you," she replied, feeling her cheeks warm up. She turned to her parents who were smiling at the two, "Thank you for letting me go out with Oliver."

The couple exchanged knowing looks and chuckled. "No worries, dear. Have fun," her mom said, giving her a warm hug before they left the house.

Oliver held the door open for Valerie, and she entered the car with a grateful smile. They sat comfortably, and the atmosphere felt relaxed as they started their journey to the park.

Oliver drove smoothly, his calm demeanor putting Valerie at ease. They chatted about various topics, and even though Oliver's responses were straightforward, there was a gentle undercurrent to his words that made her feel comfortable sharing her thoughts.

As they arrived at the park, they started their date with a leisurely walk. Oliver's subtle gestures of kindness continued throughout the day, like offering her his jacket when the wind picked up or picking a flower and tucking it behind her ear, making her blush and smile.

"You know, I'm glad I decided to go out with you," Oliver said suddenly, surprising Valerie with his honest confession.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she smiled shyly at him. "I'm glad too," she replied softly.

They continued their walk hand in hand, feeling a growing connection between them. After their walk, they headed to a nearby café for a coffee date, and the easy flow of conversation continued, with moments of lighthearted banter and laughter.

Later, they visited the butterfly exhibition, and Oliver seemed genuinely interested in her excitement over the colorful butterflies, showing a side of him that she hadn't seen before.

Finally, they settled down for a picnic date in the park at sunset. As they watched the sun dip below the horizon, Oliver wrapped his arm around Valerie, and she leaned into his embrace, feeling a sense of contentment.

"I had a really good time today," Valerie said, her heart feeling warm and content.

"Me too," Oliver replied, a soft smile gracing his lips.

In the fading light, they sat together, cherishing the moments they spent together, and looking forward to more wonderful times in the future. As the stars appeared in the sky, they knew that this first date had marked the beginning of something special, and they couldn't wait to see where their journey together would lead.
