Chapter 6

After Oliver escaped Blake's questioning he made his way home and saw his mom and older sister all dressed up.

"Took you so long Oli." his sister said with a grin. "Blake was pestering me along some annoying insects." Oliver said with annoyance to which his sister laughed at.

"Well, that's what you get for having him as your best friend. How is he anyway? Last I saw him was three months ago right?" Oliver just walked past his sister and made his way to his mom.

"Hey mom."

"Sweetie, your home. How was school?" Oliver's mom asked. "Same as usual." Oliver answered.

"Mom, where's dad?"

"He said he'll just meet us there as he has a meeting he needs to attend to." Oliver nodded and got himself ready for their outing.

After getting ready the three drove to the said restaurant and was greeted by the staff.

"Good evening and Welcome to Mr. J's Steakhouse!"

Oliver sat down with his mom and sister on their reserved table and waited for a few minutes till a man in a suit came.

"Happy birthday Oliver!"

"Dad!" Oliver and his sister said simultaneously as they hugged their dad.

After the heartily reunion the family ordered their meal and started eating. "Robert?" A man in a business suit said behind him were his wife and daughter who happened to be Valerie.

When Oliver saw this his eyes widen and so did Valerie's. "Xavier! Long time no see, your finally back from abroad?" Robert, Oliver's father asked the man named Xavier.

"I just did yesterday. If I'm not mistaken today's also your son's birthday, right? Happy birthday Oliver! Man, you resemble your dad a lot." Xavier said in a cheery voice.

"Thank you, Mr. Xavier."

"Mister? Really? Nah, just call me uncle." Xavier said, he glanced at his wife and daughter who were waiting and bid his friend goodbye.

"Well, we better get going. We're having a family dinner too. Let's go-"

"Why not join us for dinner? That's alright with you guys right?" Robert asked his family who nodded. Oliver kept glancing at Valerie who was doing her best avoiding his gaze.

"Oh? Well what do you think Honey?"

"It's fine with me dear."

"How about you V sweetie?"

Oliver gaze was still on Val, his sister who saw this had a grin on her face. If Oliver saw this he might think she's crazy.

"...sure." Valerie replied with a small smile. Valarie sat across Oliver while her parents sat across Oliver's parents and were chatting happily.

"So, your Valerie? You know your dad brags about you a lot kid. I heard your always on top 10 at school too." Oliver's dad said with a grin.

"Of course, she does, she's my kid after all!"

While the adults chatted, Val was quietly enjoying her meal, while Oliver did the same still glancing at her from time to time.

Oliver's sister Denice watched the scene with amusement. A sinister thought came into mind before Denice purposely pushed Oliver's drink towards Valerie.

Everyone turned their heads to the source of the sound only to see Valerie soaked in a cold beverage. "Oh my gosh! I am so sorry! I was trying to get the fries and-"Denice quickly apologized while eyeing her brother's reaction.
