Sasuke was still caught up in the whole bizarre plot twist of the night that he hasn't realized that the whole event is over. It took him a minute to take in that they were already in the car and they were going home. Everything went on like a flash to him.
Inside the car, it was nothing like silence. Not even Naruto dares to break it.
After pestering Sasuke too much about what happened, the Ravennete finally gave in and told them the heartbreaking truth about Sakura's mother.
Shikamaru felt pity for Sakura's situation but Naruto took the news way too personally. He was both surprised, guilty, and ashamed of himself.
"So . . ." Naruto started after being silent for too long. "He's been searching for his mom, but she passed away?" No one dared answer him but he still kept going on. "That's why he was crying. Then did both of you know that he didn't have parents? Is that why you were so good to him?"
"I had no idea." Naruto began to tear up. "I was such a fool for misunderstanding. This stupid rotten orange of a brain!"
The blonde knew the exact kind of pain Sakura is going through right now. He knows it more than everyone else.
When he was a child, his parents were in a car crash, and finding out that they died shattered his poor little soul. He remembered crying every time he misses his mother's hugs or the times his father always picks him up from school. It's a good thing that Jiraiya was always there for him to help him move forward in life.
And Naruto was sure that Sakura also needs that help, especially now.
"I feel bad for Shiro . . ."

That night was a night filled with so many tears. Ino cried her eyes out as she listens to Katsumi's stories and while Kakashi doesn't show it, he was also tearing up.
"Shiro . . ." Katsumi cried to Sakura. "I searched everywhere for you two, my only flesh and blood!" The older pinkette sniffed and then slammed the table. "There isn't a place in Japan that I didn't go to!"
She reached for Sakura's hands and held them tightly as if she was never letting go of them. "Before your dad died, he entrusted you and your twin sister to me and told me that your mom was no longer in this world."
Sakura was silent as she listens to Katsumi's stories. She heaved in a shaky breath and gulped down the lump in her throat. No, she wasn't crying. But there's still this emptiness lingering in her heart. She just can't accept it.
