Sakura has earned Sasuke's approval but that is just the beggining. From now on, she is on her own. There will be no Sasuke magically appearing to save her. She needs to prepare herself and she got no time to waste.
Her first mission is to befriend the creature living in their front yard, Kurama. Naruto's adorable orange furball dog, whom he trained to always surprise attack Sakura by suddenly jumping on her and licking her.
There's a saying that if a pet trust a stranger, that person is a good man (AN: I made that sh*t up) or something like that. If she earned the dog's trust then that means she is a trustable person, making Naruto's doubts about her go away.
She doesn't exactly need the blonde to be friends with her. Him, stopping his pranks, is already good enough for her. Besides, she'll be gone anyway once her twin comes back. What's the point of making friends if you won't see them again?
It took a lot of courage for Sakura to approach Kurama as her dog-trauma comes flooding in her mind. She shooked her head and went closer, thinking it was for the better.
Sakura knelt down and looked eye to eye to the panting dog who tilted its head at her. "You're not going to bite me, right?" She nervously asked the dog who replied back by barking.
She took a deep breath and slowly approached the dog with her right hand and proceeded to pat him in the head. She saw him move and unconsciously closed her eyes, readying herself for an attack that never happened.
Confused, she opened her eyes and saw Kurama standing with a look of anticipation in his cute face.
"You like getting your head patted? Is that it?"
"Arff!" Kurama barked, as if it was an answer to her question.
Sakura took the bark as a yes and gave him another head pat which resulted to another cute and happy reaction from the dog. Sakura giggled at him and continued her act as she felt her fear slowly vanish.
She found herself getting fond of the fox-like dog as she plays, cuddle, and shake hand with him. Kurama panted excitedly as his tail wiggled back-and-forth. He seemed to be enjoying the pinkette's company just as she is enjoying his.
"Kurama, I'm part of the family now." Sakura said and pointed her finger at him. "So, please don't bite me. Okay?" She continued with a wink. And as if he was understanding what she was saying, Kurama nodded his head enthusiastically.
Sakura squeeled as she couldn't handle the cuteness anymore. She hugged the dog and burried her face in his fur. "Kawaii~" She squeeled in her mind.
Unexpectedly, she heard footseps from behind and felt surprised, which then turn to an explosion of joy when she saw the one and only Sasuke Uchiha standing on the dorm entrance like a superstar.
