Jaehaera Targaryen (17 years old.)
Visenya had convinced Jaehaera to go for a walk with her. Her brother was no longer bedridden and her friend had gone back to staying locked in her chambers and not speaking to other people. Visenya heard about Rhaegon going back to the pleasure houses, but this time her friend seem to have taken it harder than other times. Jaehaera seemed more melancholic than before. Now she would not even speak to her. Visenya guided Jaehaera to the Godswood and signaled the guards to stay outside the walls. She wanted to speak with her cousin and did not want anyone listening in. Once she made sure they were completely alone she sat next to the other girl. "What is the matter?" Jaehaera looked at her confused and Visenya sighed. "I know something has happened, you are sad and more melancholic than usual." "Nothing is the matter." "Jaehaera, do not lie to me." Visenya took the other girl's hand. "We are cousins and friends. You know you can trust me. I would never repeat anything you say." "I know that. Is not a matter of trust." Visenya frowned. "I am ashamed of what happened." "There is nothing for you to be ashamed of. I have known you my entire life and you have always been good. If you did something you should not have then I know you had a good reason for it." "But I do not. I was so stupid." Tears ran down Jaehaera's face and she looked so small at that moment. "I cannot believe I allowed myself to do such things and it did not even matter." "Jaehaera, I need you to tell me what happened. You are scaring me." "Rhaegon and I.." Jaehaera stopped and Visenya's eyes widened. She was praying it was not what she was thinking. For Jaehaera's sake. She wanted to kill her brother. "We had intercourse." "My brother fucked you?" Visenya's cheeks flushed when Jaehaera looked at her wide-eyed. She could not believe her brother had deflowered her friend. After everything Jaehaera had done for him. "Is there a possibility you are with child?" "No!" The vehemence with which her cousin shook her head made her think she was telling the truth. "I met with one of the healers and he gave me a potion they brought from Essoss. They said it was very effective and safer than moon tea." "Have you spoken to your parents?" "Of course not." Jaehaera's tears fell faster. "What am I supposed to say? That I was stupid and betrayed everything I have been taught since I was a small child? I cannot do that to my mother." "You cannot keep it to yourself." Visenya could feel her anger growing. She was furious. "Jaehaera, my bother is the one at fault. He knew of your feelings for him and he took advantage of them. You cannot keep this to yourself." "Yes, I can. I do not want him to wed me because our parents force him to." Visenya hated seeing her friend like this. "Two days later he was back at the pleasure houses. I do not want my marriage to be like my parents was. I do not want a husband who is forced to bed me just so we can have children and then seek his pleasure elsewhere." "Jaehaera, we.." "Please!" This time it was Jaehaera who took her hands. Her friend looked almost frantic. Visenya had never seen her like this. "Please, you have to promise you will not say anything to our parents. I could not stand it if they forced things between us. I have learned my lesson and I now know Rhaegon will never feel the same way I do. I will just do as I have done since it happened and stay away from him." "I promise." Visenya hugged her, letting the girl cry against her chest. She could not believe Jaehaera had been going through all of this alone while she was taking walks and enjoying being with the man she loved. "I will not say anything to your parents. We will be here for as long as you need to." Visenya let Jaehaera cry, her heart breaking with each tear that fell out of her cousin's eyes. She might not tell her parents, but her brother would learn why she had been named after one of the conqueror queens.
