{Sadie's POV}
The school had an event coming up where we go with different schools and they have a bunch of things to do. There's going to be all sorts of entertainment there on a stage too. Musicals, comedy shows, other performances, and mini concerts of all music (even the ones with inappropriate lyrics because they don't care anymore). Daisy, Stacy, and I have been trying to contact Jake since we've heard of it, but none of us had any luck. However, Daisy was also acting weird lately, and Stacy doesn't even seem concerned about it either. I was worried about going to the event with them because I wanted to make sure that Jake was going to be there too, but we haven't heard anything from any of his friends either.

"I hope he's doing alright, but I'm honestly scared to go up and talk to him myself." I thought while walking home to go and study for a bit before I would be called downstairs for dinner.

I walked into my house and found my brother waiting for me in the living room. "Hey Sadie."

"Hey Tobias." I said while walking past him to go to my room.

"Anything new?" He asked causing me to stop to look at him.

"No, not really." I answered wanting to get out of there as soon as possible.

He knew that I was trying to get out of there. "Alright, go ahead and study, I'll be in the kitchen." He got up and went to the kitchen.

I walked into my room and got out my studying notebook and the books I needed to study. I put my headphones on and started to play music, but the piano wasn't doing it this time and I had no idea why. I knew that Daisy was friends with the music club and I decided to text her for some different music:

Hey Daisy.

D: What's up Sadie?

Do you have any music to help for studying? I usually listen to the piano, but it's not working this time.

D: I don't have any song suggestions, but I could give you some audio recordings of Jake or Hailey singing if you want.

"Jake."

I would like to try that actually.

D: Alright, here you go!

I played the audio attachment it was soothing to hear Jake's voice that way. It surprisingly helped me focus on studying, and I actually got it done faster. I took off my headphones just in time to hear my brother calling me for dinner.

{The Next Day} {Jake's POV}
I got onto the bus to head to that place that the school wanted us to go to. I was sitting alone so far because my friends were practically all on the other busses. We were still boarding, but I also didn't mind being alone. "I'm already performing a song for people on a stage for entertainment." The music club couldn't do it with me because Hailey and Zander were on a vacation in the middle of the school year. I almost didn't notice someone standing next to where I was sitting.

"Hey." I looked up only to see Sadie standing there, book in hand. "Can I sit down next to you?"

I slightly panicked. "Oh uh, yeah of course." I scooted over to the left a bit more so that she could sit down with no problem.
