Turns out Telmarians take everything literally.
That is one thing Iris learned that day.Edmund and Iris got up and rushed down towards where everyone was to see the commotion. In the sea facing them, nearby the shore, two armoured men and a dwarf sat in a small, old boat.
When Susan yelled drop him, the armoured men dropped the dwarf into the sea."Great way to start the day!" Iris muttered as she walked up to them. The two boys had jumped in the water and were currently fishing out the dwarf while Susan stayed facing the men with an arrow.
The men jumped in the water as Susan let the bow fly.
She smirked slightly as the arrow found its mark, impaling it in a man's chest. As the boys hauled the dwarf to the beach ,Lucy rushed forward with Peter's pocket knife and started cutting the rope off the dwarf's hands. After the cloth around his mouth was removed the dwarf exclaimed " Drop him!? That's the best you can come up with!"
Susan frowned "A simple thank you would suffice."
The blonde haired dwarf scrolled in reply
"They were doing just fine drowning me without your help."Iris watched the scene unfold but did not take part in the conversation.
Peter, who was soaking wet, was getting tired of this dwarf already. He pushed his soaked hair out of his eyes before commenting " Perhaps we should have let them.".
This was not well received by the dwarf. He scowled as he adjusted his wet clothes.
Lucy tried to talk to the dwarf in a more kind tone " Why were they trying to kill you?"
The dwarf stared at her in shock " They're Telmarians. That's what they do."
Edmund frowned at this " Telmarians? In Narnia?" The dwarf looked astonished at Edmund's confusion at this." Where have you been for the last few hundred years?
"It's a long story."
Iris smiled at this." A story that takes three books and about three chapters more." Everyone glanced at her as if she was mad. She shrugged at their concerned glances. " Now here is another lesson about life 2023 when people get obsessed with something, they get really,I mean REALLY obsessed."
They all slowly nodded and turned away, standing in silence.
Awkward. Time to get a move on, does the book have to finish at a particular time? Does it follow any rules? Any? Then again should I follow the rules? Nah.
"Come on don't just stand there! You've got Caspian to meet, wars to win, lessons to learn!" She exclaimed.
Edmund groaned "Lessons? And here I thought Narnia was a break from Latin and Algebra!"
Susan rolled her eyes "First thing, Latin is fun. Second thing, not those kind of lessons."
Iris made her way to the boat when she turned around and facepalmed. " My bad, I moved to fast,Rewind people! I didn't say anything. What are you talking about?" The dwarf ,now severely confused, stared at her. "Who are you all anyway?"
He stopped for a bit and surveyed them.
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me. You're it?You're the kings and queens of old?"
Peter stepped forward. "I'm High King Peter, The Magnificent."
Iris rolled her eyes "Could have left out the last bit."
"Could've, but I didn't."
