Chapter - 7

"Wh-what !! don't babble such stupid stuff. This is impossible. She and I....no, no I can't even imagine", flabbergasted Leo replied. Mr.John asked him if his heart beats fast when Highness touches him or looks at him. Leo nodded. "But you can't determine its love just by increasing the heartbeat. One needs solid proof", reacts Leo. "If you need, I can help you to check these facts. There are 3 basic stages of love which I learned from the Earth during my research era with you", responds Mr.John. Leo glazed at him and said, "You were doing all this on Earth?" "King, actually I was studying human emotions and it is as far as I know the most important emotion", cleared Mr.John. Further Leo asked him more about this. Mr.John continues that "during these 3 steps one clarifies the relationship between each other. The first step is what you have already experienced i.e. habits of each other, the second is the stage of instability of emotions i.e. increasing heart rate, jealousy, or loneliness, and the last stage is acceptance. Currently, you are in the second stage and I think you need to focus more on other emotions like jealousy or loneliness to determine your feelings". Leo agrees but is still in a dilemma on how to do it. Mr. John looks at him and assures him that he will manage everything, King just needs to focus on his emotions.The next day, when the Highness woke up, Mr. John greeted her and told her that he will get her breakfast in her room and she doesn't need to come down. Even though Flora found it weird but still she nodded and said in a teasing way "Okay no problem. It's good that I don't need to tackle your angry king". On the other hand, Leo was waiting for her at the dining table. Mr. John came and informed him that Highness will have her breakfast in her room. Now Leo begins to think that she is still upset over the closeness topic. Although he already feels guilty over saying those words in anger but doesn't know how to make her understand it. He had his breakfast with a downhearted face and the whole day Flora was in her room as she was practicing her powers but he thought that she was upset with him. After a whole lonely day at last Flora comes running to him in the main hall, all excited she told him that she got perfect with her skills. She was talking continuously but not a single word fell on his ears as he was delighted to see her and was charmed with her voice as if after a long drought here comes the rain. He understood what loneliness means. She shook him and said "Are you even listening to me? I am talking with you" to which he replied in a gentle tone "I'm all ears for you only". "What?", reacts Flora. He gets his sense back and quickly responds "I-I mean you are the only one talking here so I am just listening to you". Mr. John notices his reaction from afar and ponders that it will not take too much time to let the king realize his feeling for the Highness. She was about to leave, Leo held her hand and she looked at him. He freed her hand and asked her "W-why don't we eat something first, it's almost time to eat". Before Flora could reply, Mr. John enters and greets them "King there is an invitation from Earl Planet, inviting you and the Highness to a small socializing party tomorrow". Without a single thought, Leo denies it as he didn't want to attend such parties but to his surprise, Flora quickly agrees to it and even gets excited. "You want to go to such parties? Do you even know what type of parties these are?" Leo asked. "I don't know but this is my first royal party since I came here and I want to attend it", Flora reacts enthusiastically. "It's not just a normal party, it's a 'socializing party' where people get to socialize to get married!! Do you get that? And if you are that eager to attend a royal party then I will arrange one for you in my palace", Leo reacts, to which Mr. John gets amazed and looks at him because Leo never agrees to arrange a party in the bright palace as he hates strangers and their noise. "Now I am more eager to go. And you already said you are not going so I will just go as it doesn't look nice to turn down someone's invitation like this", said Flora and leaves for her room. "Arrange our clothes for tomorrow", ordered Leo. Mr. John reacts "But you said you are not goi...". "Now I Am !" Leo shouted and leaves. Mr. John smiles. The next day, both of them tried on clothes for the party and Leo waited for Flora in the main hall. She came down and got the eyes of the king. Leo gets amazed by her beauty as it was the first time he saw her in a dress. Flora looks at him and reacts "Whoa! Someone is looking handsome, Looks like a lion to attract many lionesses". Leo reacts to it and says "Thanks for your compliment but I am more like a wolf", he teases her about her dress and said, "Why did you wear a grey dress? People will think I brought a she-wolf with me". "Shut up ! You are a wolf, not me", reacts Flora and hits his shoulder. He thinks in his mind maybe yes I am your wolf. Mr. John informed them that they are ready to leave. They get on the aircraft and leave for the Earl planet. On the way, Leo tells her to be with him, don't talk with anyone. She interrupts him saying that if she won't talk with anyone then what is the purpose of going to a 'socializing' party? All the way they both bicker on this topic and when they finally reached there he offered her to hold his hand but she denied, so he pulled her hand and put it on his arm saying "Just hold me otherwise lionesses will eat you alive". They both entered and Princess Mate welcomed them with her brother Prince Arrow. A servant comes and offers them two wristbands, golden to Leo and silver to Highness. She asked about it and Princess Mate told her to wear it and when she found her partner just give this to them as It's the common ritual of socializing parties in Earl Planet. "As usual the Highness is so alluring, it's my pleasure to meet you", Prince Arrow greets her. "Nice to meet you too..", responds Flora with a smile. Princess asked them to enjoy the party as she needed to attend to some guests. Leo took Flora away from Prince Arrow and whispered to her "You never smiled at me like this but just now it was such a happy gesture". "Are you jealous?", questioned Flora. Leo gets surprised by her sudden question and reacts "Gosh! I-I am jealous of him? Really? What a joke. If I want I can make every girl in this party fall for me then why would I be jealous of a kid like him?" She gets her hand free and challenges him that at the end of the party whoever will get this wristband a hand, will tell the other person one of their secrets. He agreed to it as it was his chance to ask her if she also feels the same about him or not. Flora makes this bet to get information about his brothers. Princess Mate and Prince Arrow came, asking them to join for a dance. Prince Arrow offers to dance with Flora, Leo looks at her and she agrees to dance with Prince. Leo also dances with Mate. Music started, the lights got dim and everyone danced with each other. Leo continuously stares at Flora and gets impatient. As the music changes, partners change and now Flora and Leo are dancing together. He pulls her closer, putting one hand on his shoulder and holding the other. "Do you think I should offer my wristband to Prince Arrow?" asked Flora as they were dancing, he pulled her closer through her waist and replied, "You don't need to win this bet. Even if you lose today I still need to tell you something. So just don't offer your wristband to anyone". "Aren't we too close to each other? People will misinterpret", reacts Flora. "I didn't mean it when I said we are not close enough. It's just that I didn't control my emotions at that time. So I'm sorry for that". Suddenly the music stops, the lights get on and everyone claps. Flora also gets away from Leo and claps. She was also surprised after seeing him like this. Princess Mate clinks her glass and announces that now everyone can exchange their bands with their chosen partners. Prince Arrow came towards Flora to offer her his band but saw a golden band on her wrist and reacted "You already got the king. I'm a little late I guess". She saw her hand and looked at King Leo in astonishment.
