It's Getting Dark!

Chapter - 9

They entered the palace and King Dark was waiting for them in the main hall. He looked at them but only greeted Flora "Highness, if you are ready then we can leave. Chief ordered me to take you to the Shadow Galaxy ". He was wearing a black royal suit with embroidery of red pearls giving out the aura of a vampire but with an attractive face. Leo is still surprised and feels awkward upon meeting his brother after so long but can't gather the strength to talk with him. "Why can't the chief first discuss it with me before sending kings!", yelled Flora. She further says politely, "I hope you won't get angry if I don't go with you". King Dark reacts "Indeed chief warned me that you are not easy to tackle. If you didn't agree to come with me then I need to take you against your will". "Indeed you both are brothers. But this time I have powers so don't you try to kidnap me", replied Flora sarcastically.

Leo was standing there without uttering a single word but deep inside wants to hold her hand and protect her from going away. He also wants to hug his brother but all his thoughts require confidence to do which he can't bear to have. "Sure enough I know that your powers are greater than mine but do you think that I came here unprepared?" reacts Dark and throws a black band towards her wrist. She looked at it and was not able to pull it out. She gets irritated and tries to use her power but isn't able to do anything. She yelled at him "What's this band and why can't I use my powers? Tell me!". "This is a power-blocker and once you have it you can't use your power", he says in response and drags her to his aircraft. Flora shouted, "Leave my hand, are you listening?".

Now Leo's patience breaks and he said "Why don't you ask her if she wants to go with you or not?". Dark encountered him by saying "Did you ask her before? I think I should follow in the footsteps of my elder brother". He leaves with Flora and Leo is standing there flabbergasted. Once again she was locked in a room of the aircraft but this time she was not knocking it, instead she held her necklace and went to the chief and asked him "Don't tell me this is the new mission you told me? Like seriously. This one not only kidnapped me but can even stop my powers". Chief ensures her that he is not a bad person and it will be easier than King Leo as King Dark is a soft-hearted person. "I think your meaning for a soft-hearted person is entirely different from mine", argued Flora.

Chief further told her about her mission. This time she needs to make this king respect others. "If you didn't tell me then also I could guess my mission, this guys need some manners", responds Flora. He also reminds her about the condition of not falling in love and not revealing her mission. She replied "Roger chief!". They land at the Shadow palace and when she comes out, she is stunned as it looks like a haunted palace but sort of clean. The palace was black and the sky was covered with dark clouds with a shining moon which looks to her like the only hope to be in this galaxy. A man standing at the entrance of the palace greets them, "You're welcome to our Shadow galaxy, Your Highness". "You are his main assistant, right?", asked Flora. He replied, "Yes highness, my name is Mr. Blurry". "Are you a relative of Mr. John?", laughed Flora. But upon seeing no reactions she stopped, he replied that Mr. John is his senior indeed, and after becoming a king's main assistant they got the 'Mr.' title. "Enough of these rubbish talks. Go to your room with him and I will talk with you later on", said Dark without even looking at her. She completely ignored him and asked Mr. Blurry "Did you guys have some sort of academy?" Dark looked at her and yelled "Did you just ignore me or not even listen to me?" Flora looked at him and taunt him "You were talking with me? I thought someone is standing in front of you as one needs to make eye contact while talking, isn't it some common manners?". Now Dark is completely pissed off by her and loses his temper. He strangled her neck and warned her to not push her luck as he can kill her. Instead of scaring she smiled, confusing Dark and said "You are not that stupid, and don't think of me as one. You can't kill me until you want to lose your powers by killing an innocent person". She pushed his hand off her neck and warned him that next time she won't be talking nicely. He was going from there but she stopped him and raised her hand in front of him and signed him to take the band off first before leaving. He looked at her in outrage, to which she whispered to him "Don't worry, I also don't want to lose my powers by killing you. So without any fear take this band off". He pulled the band off her hand and left. She touched her neck and thought maybe the soft element of his heart had died and reincarnated somewhere else. Meanwhile, on the Bright Galaxy, Leo was full of rage, breaking off things as he feels that he can't protect anyone he loves, not even his brothers and not Flora. He can't even go to Shadow Galaxy as with what face he will face her and his brother. He decided to talk with the chief, took the ring out of his drawer, and put it. He is now in that room, and yelled at the chief "Why did you do that? Didn't you say she is my responsibility, then why?". Chief reacts if she is his responsibility, then why did he let her leave? Why didn't fight with King Dark? "How can I fight my brother, when I met him after so long""Then let her leave if you can't gather the strength to talk with your brother""But..", before he could say anything, he went back to his room.

At Shadow Palace, Flora was shocked to see her room. It was like a haunted set-up with weird lights and the only source of light was moonlight from a big window in the room. She thinks about how she will sleep here and got tense. Later when it's dinner time, she was sitting alone on such a big dining table and asks Mr. Blurry about King Dark. He replied that King Dark never has dinner here, he always eats in his room. Before she eats, she asks if they use royal peanuts in food to which he responds that they don't use royal peanuts anymore in their food as King Dark hates it. After spending a difficult night in the palace, she decided to make this mission as soon as possible otherwise she will turn into a living ghost here. The next day Flora comes out of her room, yawning, and sees King Dark shouting at the servants. She couldn't bear his behaviour, so she came down and stopped him "Can't you be a little polite with people around you?"

Dark yelled at her that if she doesn't know when to speak then she is supposed to be quiet. Now it's high time for her to control her temper, she gets irritated with him and takes the glass from the servant's hand and throws water on his face. He dodged it but she used her power to control water and splashed him from behind. Everyone got shocked and Dark shouted "YOU!!" and comes towards her, she runs from there and he runs behind her. Both of them were running in the whole palace. Mr. Blurry smiled seeing the childish behaviour of Dark and thoughts that maybe his heart is not dead yet. After running for so long they finally reached the terrace of the palace, where she suddenly stopped at the end and ran towards him while shouting. He also stopped and panted "Yo-you don't move now, I forgive you. Just don't run", she doesn't reply to him and hides behind him and holds him as if something scares her. He noticed that she was scared. He asked her what happened, and she replied with a cracked voice "loo-look in front of you, gh-ghosts !!". He looked in front and saw some ghosts going somewhere in front of the palace. He asked her to leave him first as she was holding his clothes, turned towards her, and told her these are some ghosts of Shadow Galaxy on their way to Dead Farm. It's the time of the month when they all gather on the Farm near Shadow Palace to meet each other for a last time before going to other galaxies. He teased her saying there is a ghost behind her, she shouted and got behind him, and he laughed at her. She looked at him in anger and shouted "You moron king!!" and runs away from there. He shouted "Keep your windows close otherwise ghosts will enter your room" and smiled. At night, before going to sleep, she makes sure that the window is locked.
