Chapter 16: Pizza and You

"Y/n! You better open this door up right now!" Devyn was pounding on your door, awakening you from your slumber. "Okay, okay, hold on!" You quickly stumble out of bed, putting on your slippers, rushing to the door to end the loud bangs. You open the door, making Devyn almost punch you in the face. "Oh my gosh!" You had no reaction from how tired you were. "Move, let me in!" You stepped to the side, as she rushed in and ran to sit on the couch.

"Someone's impatient." You giggle lightly, shutting the door before sitting down next to her. "Obviously! You kissed Jack! Off camera!" She put both her hands on your shoulders, shaking you. "What's the big deal? I mean we've kissed off script, so what's the difference?" You tried not to act too excited, or you would never hear the end of the teasing. "Don't play coy. I know you're shaking in your boots. Now just tell me the details! I'm dying here!"

You tell Devyn everything, from the biggest to the smallest detail you can, not leaving anything out. "That's all. Oh shit, have I told you about what he messaged me before I fell asleep?" You open your phone, trying to see exactly what it said. "No, spill!" You had to scroll up a bit. "He said, 'Tonight was amazing. We should do something like that again next week.' I just agreed and told him I was tired and going to bed." You didn't want to seem desperate, but who were you kidding? You thrived for him every second.

"Y/n got game!" You both laughed and drifted off into different conversations.

"Finally, the pizza is here." You guys decided to take advantage of the free day and have a small get together. You go to open the door, to not see the pizza man. "Oh, nevermind. It's just Mason." You tried to sound disappointed as a joke. "Wow, you know as one of your best friends, I think I deserve a better welcome." He walks in the room, forcing you out of the way. "I'm just kidding." Mason turned around crossing his arms. You just give him a slight, playful push, which makes him smile.

You only invited Mason and Jack over, not wanting this to be a big thing. All you guys were waiting on at this point was Jack and the pizza. Jack would come much later though, having to run some errands.

"So y/n, what is this that I hear about you and Jack kissing?" You were very into what was currently on the tv, so when you heard Mason say this, your head shot in his direction very quickly. "What?" You haven't told him yet, so how would he have known?

Devyn started sinking into the couch, guilt spread all over her face. The dots eventually connected. "Devyn." She avoided looking at you. "How could have Mason possibly know about this if I haven't told him yet?" You raised your eye brows, moving yourself to be in her view.

She shot up from the couch, "Mason! I told you to not say anything till she told you herself! You had one job, and you failed!" Mason stood up, instantly defending himself. "Oh, so I'm to blame here? Maybe you should've not told me at all! So technically, this is your fault!" Gosh, they were like toddlers.

"What's everyone yelling about?" You hear a new voice from the doorway, making you turn your head. Jack was standing in the doorway with the pizza in his hand. "Nothing!" Mason and Devyn said at the same time. You forgot you told him to just walk in when he got here. Hopefully he didn't hear anything beforehand.

"Oh wait, you got the pizza?" You were hoping you could change the subject, not wanting him to ask anymore questions. "Oh yeah, I saw the pizza guy at the door and told him I was walking in and that I could just take it off his hands. I paid as well, so you didn't have to worry about it." Ugh, he was just the sweetest thing ever.

"You didn't have to do that Jack. Thank you though. I will pay you back, I promise." You walked up to him, grabbing the pizza out of his hand, and setting it on the table in front of the couch. "No, don't. It's fine. No need." You just shot him a smile, him sending one right back. His smile was the best.

You all somehow agreed on the decision to watch the show "You." Devyn had already seen some it, and said it was really good, just kind of gross. You all just said why not, and put it on, Joe Goldberg is absolutely crazy.

"Yikes. That was only season one?" Jack said, a hint of being traumatized, which was very understandable. "Yup. The next two seasons are even worse." Devyn assured him, making his eyes grow wider. "Yeah, no thank you." You laughed at Jack, thinking that him being a little awkward was adorable.

"Well, it's getting kind of late, and we have a new cast member joining tomorrow, so we should probably get going." Mason stood, grabbing the trash off the table. Mason was also really sweet. "Yeah he's right. Thank you for tonight y/n, I had a lot of fun." You and Devyn both got up, giving each other a hug.

"I'll stay a little longer if you want." Jack said, also standing. You just gave him a nod, getting a little nervous from the fact he wants to stay when everyone leaves. "Alright, bye guys. See you tomorrow." Mason and Devyn walked out together, waving.

"So, what were you guys talking about earlier?" Shit. How are you gonna say this. "Oh that. Um, not gonna lie, I completely forgot!" Liar liar, pants on fire. "No you didn't. Just tell me." You sighed. "Fine. I told Devyn about what happened between us, and then she told Mason without telling me, and then they just started going at it." You wish you said that slower than you did.

Jack laughed. "Of course. They are such toddlers." "That's what I said!" You started laughing with him. "Gosh. Tomorrow is gonna be crazy. New cast member, plot changing." Jack said, which got you thinking. "New cast member? For what character?" You can't lie, you haven't been reading the script. Even if you did, it didn't involve this new cast member.

"Yeah. She plays Kate. Aka, the girl I cheat on your character with. You haven't been reading the script?"

AN: Heyyyy, sorry for taking like 3 weeks to post. I honestly lost motivation and my crush on Jack isn't as big as it was😭. But I will try to post more often, I cannot promise though. And sorry if this is real shitty, I rushed the end, trying to get this done with so I didn't break my promise of posting 😭. But maybe the drama will give me some motivation hopefully.
