Chapter 6: A Journey Together

Continuing from the last chapter...

As you and Leon set off, you led him to the cave and said "I can watch you battle, but remember, I can't help you with it" He replied with a nod, walking (or should I say strutting) into the cave proudly. Inside, you and Leon met with a Mega Gyarados, and you stepped back to watch him battle. 

Leon smirked seeing it and pulled out Charizard's pokeball. Despite the type disadvandage, you watched in shock as he destroyed the mega evolved pokemon. Comparing it to the battle with Greninja, one of your aces, you realized that he may have just let you off easy on purpose because he probably thought you couldn't do it. As Leon walked toward you proudly with the Charzardite, he said, "Pretty impressive right?"

"Uhh yeah, but I have a question."

"Yeah?"

"Do you think I am weak? When my Greninja challenged your Charizard, were you even trying?"

"Of course I was, after your first move, I knew you were strong."

"Oh, okay," you said.

"I think you just don't realize how strong you are." Leon reassured you with a sweet smile that made your heart pound.

"It's getting late, lets get dinner and then stay at a hotel until tomorrow," you suggested.

"Sure"

After walking to the restaurant and ordering, you two chatted and you asked a curious question. "Are you and Sonia dating? You two seem pretty close."

Leon remain silent for a moment then said "Well I always like her but... she never liked me back. She is actually with Raihan."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know it would bother you so much, I was just curious."

While you chatted with Leon, you got to know him better, and know that he had his own backstory. After splitting the bill, the two of you took a taxi to the nearest hotel. You saw a crowd nearby, admiring the fireworks, and you thought in your head how grateful you were of the disguise, since you were famous all over the regions for your performances, both the pokemon performances and singing. After pulling Leon the right way you stood at the hotel sliding doors. Entering the hotel, you and Leon frowned to know that there was only one room left, at least it had two beds.

 As you were waiting for Leon to shower, you sat on your bed, scrolling your online pages and texting your friends on your Rotomphone. Serena and Ash facetimed you shortly after, talking about their double date with Raihan and Sonia, and you caught up with Anthony about everything. After telling them everything that had happened that day, you promised to update them soon and after texting Coraline, you saw Leon out of the corner of your eye, with the only thing covering him was a towel at his waist. After covering your face, you went to bathroom and showered. After changing into some comfortable clothes, you lay on your bed, unable to fall asleep.

Beside you, on the bed nearby, you could see Leon on his Rotomphone, the only thing illuminating the dark room. With Evee fast asleep beside you, you forced your eyes closed and dozed off soon after. 

A few hours later, you felt someone stroking your hair as you tried to pretend to be asleep. After tucking you in, you saw Leon out of the corner of your eye slip onto his bed and fall asleep. Wondering what just happened, you felt your cheeks dust pink as you watched the full moon outside the window. Finally, you dozed off and was woken by the early morning sun. Seeing Leon still asleep, you quietly tip toed to the bathroom to get ready for the day. 

After coming out all freshly dressed, you suddenly bumped into someone, his chest as hard as stone. Hiding your blush you apologized to him, you hastily ran to your bed to pack. The moment when your eyes met and your lips an inch away from each other ran through your mind, as your cheeks reddened. After packing and checking out of the hotel, you sat next to him on the bench, waiting for your jet to land. He interrupted the silence. "Y/n, I have an important question to ask. It has been on my mind for quite a while..."

"Yeah, what's up?"

"I've told you about my stories of love, what about yours?"

"UHhhh, you see, I haven't really dated. I've had the ones I love, but usually they all come and go, no one has been particularly that special."

"Oh okay" he responded, disappointment clear in his voice.

"The jet is here, lets go" you said, walking up the stairs to the jet. You shot one of your award-winning smiles at your assistant. "Thanks again Coraline"

"Always, you are too kind, after all, I'm your assistant."

"You are more help than any assistant" you responded.

"Thanks so much" she said.

After returning to Galar, you were greeted by your ecstatic friends and brother. While you told them about everything, and every little detail, you turned around to see Leon had left. Hop informed you that he had champion duties to attend to. After a day of catching up, you rested in the hotel Ash and Serena were also staying at, occupying the next door room. You just couldn't help thinking about everything that had happened.
