Chapter One - Day One

Sunghoon's eyes fluttered open as the sound of his alarm rang in his ears. He squinted in the dark and turned it off.

"Day one...time to wake up..." He mumbles to no one.

Sunghoon stands and heads to the bathroom to prepare for the day. He turns on the light and stares at his reflection.

Handsome...as always.

Sunghoon smirks and runs his hair through his dark hair.

Today was his first day of school...at Heights University.

He took a year off from school once he finished high school. It would probably be strange...he would probably be a year older than most of the other first-year students. All his peers from high school would be in their second-year.

These past few years were...mediocre.

Nothing specifically was wrong...it just seemed as if the world was moving on without him. Like his time got paused and life was just pushing past him...

It almost felt like drowning.

But...he was still floating...somehow. Still breathing.

Still alive.

He showers quickly and stands in his towel as he studies the outfit he had picked out last night. He crosses his arms and sighs.

He was completely satisfied with it, but it would be good enough.

It seemed like a better match last night, when he was tired.

"Aish...whatever." Sunghoon growls. He quickly gets dressed and checks the time.

At least he was on schedule.

Sunghoon exits his room and walks towards the front door.

"Yo!"

Sunghoon turns around at the sound of his roommate's voice. They both moved in recently, and luckily his roommate had the same idea to take a year off in-between so they were the same age and both going to be first-years.

"Ummm...yeah?"

"Can you wait for me?" He asks shyly. Sunghoon sighs but nods and waits for him to slip on his shoes and grab his bag.

"Thanks." The boy smiles and closes the door behind them, making sure to lock it. They're silent as they wait for the elevator...equally quiet on the ride down.

"You know...it's been like...2 weeks, but I don't even know your name..." The boy laughs awkwardly as they exit the building.
