Chapter Two - Mind

"Fuck me." Sunghoon whispers in the dark.

"Excuse me?" Jake mumbles, looking up from his phone. Sunghoon's eyes widened as he realized he wasn't alone. How long had Jake been sitting there?

"I mean...fuck my life. That's all." Sunghoon sighs, leaning even further back against the couch. Jakes raises his eyebrows and then looks back down at his screen.

"Girl problems? Work problems? School problems? Low episodes of depression?" Jake asks quietly.

"No...none of those."

"Oh...? I can't think of anything else though..."

"Guy problems?" Sunghoon suggests. Jake nearly chokes on the raisins he was snacking on. He caught himself and cleared his throat before raising his eyes.

"Sorry...didn't know...you swung that way."

"Is that a problem?"

Jake shakes his head quickly, raising his hands.

"No! Not at all...I do too." Jake admits.

"Well then this is awkward..." Sunghoon sighs and looks up at the ceiling as the scene from earlier that day replayed in his head for the hundredth time.

"Are you going to leave me guessing or are you going to explain? I'm hella nosy and you already started it..." Jake smirks as he watches Sunghoon sigh for the fifth time in the past minute.

Ah...what the hell? Why not tell his roommate (who was basically a stranger right now), his depressing first love story?

"Once upon a time, I fell in love. And when I confessed, he left me. A few years pass...and I see him again. Kissing someone else." Sunghoon tried to hide his offended facial expression. He had no right to be offended...or jealous.

"Ha...sounds worse than mine." Jake scoffs and glares down at his phone before shutting it off and tossing it onto the table in front of him; not caring if it fell or broke.

"Now that sounds like a story." Sunghoon raises his eyebrow.

"I'm not ready to talk about it. I'm still currently trying to figure it all out...it's probably just in my head." Jake closes his eyes and stretches before standing.

"Anyway...sorry about your depressing ass love story but you should try moving on."

"Wow...didn't think of that." Sunghoon grumbled.

"No for real. You should try to find someone you like more than you liked him."

"I did try." Sunghoon whispers, "I tried so hard...but there's nobody like him."
