Chapter Four - Marks

"Damn...there really is a project." Sunghoon sighs and leans back in his seat. He looks over at the empty space beside him and frowns.

Heeseung...has never been late before.

Are you skipping? Are you sick?

Sunghoon's messages were left unanswered and not read.

There's a gentle knock on the door and the professor pauses, reaching over to open it.

A familiar figure enters the room.

"Sorry sir." The voice is weak and the professor shrugs him off, gesturing for him to take a seat. Heeseung makes his way up the rows and scoots in beside Sunghoon.

"Dude...you scared me." Sunghoon whispers. Heeseung's hair was in front of his face, hiding his eyes.

"Sorry." He mumbles, not bothering to turn his head in Sunghoon's direction.

"Heeseung?" Sunghoon calls gently, hesitant to reach for the older.

"Please...let's just...not talk right now." Heeseung whispers weakly, "I'll explain later...so..."

"Don't worry about it. You don't have to tell me anything, I just want to make sure you're okay. That's all." Sunghoon faces the front again and continues with his assignment. He saw Heeseung shiver out of the corner of his eye. He saw the way Heeseung was making himself small against the table.

He just didn't know how to ask.

Didn't want to ask.

Wasn't sure if he really wanted to know.

"Do you want to go to the library a few blocks down? For the project, I mean." Sunghoon offers. Heeseung nods as he gathers his things, stacking his books and folders neatly before hugging them to his chest.

"That's fine." He says. Heeseung follows behind Sunghoon as they make their way through the hallways.

Luckily they had their last class together too. The hallways were chaotic, bodies bumping into each other as people rushed to get away from the prison titled "education and further development".
