A Prince and Spy (Ninjago Lava)

The Ice Prince

Cole's Pov:

He can't believe he made Lloyd cry. He usually was more in check with his emotions, but after losing it all he couldn't hold it in anymore. He still didn't know what his feelings about Kai were. Anger? Resentment? Or was it- love?

Cole must have visibly blushed, because Kai asked him if everything was okay.

"Are you okay Cole?" His hair swayed in the cool wind.

"I'm fine." I shrug him off.

He makes an expression I find hard to read, but I know he's still feeling betrayed and sad. We slept in a forest that night, one that surrounded the whole Ice Kingdom.

We reach the Ice Kingdom's castle the next day, and a group of guards lets us in.

"How may I help you young gentleman?" The Ice King speaks in a soft, gentle voice. It is rather welcoming.

"We seek shelter, and perhaps help for a way to stop the war between my Kingdom and the Lightning's." Kai speaks in a warm tone to match his.

He squints at Kai for a moment.

"Oh, I didn't know we would be having a royal visitor, if so I would have made accommodations. Well I can help you with the first part, as for the second you may want to speak to my son about that. Come, come along now Kai, Fire Prince, and friends."

He gestures to us to follow him. When we get there Cole can't help but admire the decor. He had only ever been in Jay's quarters, and even that wasn't as fancy as this. Ice shimmered all around them and a chandelier shined above them. There were three beds, all having a white cover.

"I'm sorry this isn't much, but we really weren't expecting you."

"This is more than plenty, thank you King Julian." Cole thanked him. The next morning, after some rest, we heard a knock at the door.

"Come in!"Kai yells.

The Ice Prince enters and Cole and Kai go to greet him.

"Hello, Kai, Prince of Fire, and Cole, Knight of the Lightning Kingdom."

"You know me?" Cole asks.

"I am a robot, I know a lot of things."

Clearly not the fact I was no longer a knight. Cole and Kai glance at each other then back at Zane.

"I heard you want to know how to unite your kingdoms, and I have a few ideas. Let us leave for the meeting room."

Zane begins to walk away, as we follow. Cole stops for a moment to tell Lloyd they would be back soon. He nods and plays with mini ice figures.

We enter the meeting room and Zane begins to speak.

"As rumored the Lightning Kingdom has stolen the Allied Armor."

He looked at Cole who nodded.

"Then we must get it back, having Jay, the Lightning Prince, return it."

"Eh- it would work, but the guards would never let him near my father, and we can't get into the Ice Kingdom, considering we are- well banished", Kai says.

"That is a problem. Allow me to re-evaluate." Zane gave a moment to think about it.

"Kai could get Nya to enter, disguised as a peasant. She would tell Jay the plan, giving Jay time to convince his father, then we would bring Jay who shall present it."

Cole wasn't entirely convinced it would work. Jay's father was strict, but if he thought it would work then he would do it. He knew that King Gordon regretted what he did, and didn't want to go through with.

But he just agreed and hoped for the best.

"Fine, but I'll leave tomorrow. I need rest." Kai and Cole leave for their room. Cole kept staring at Kai as the beautiful Prince slept.

He felt charmed by the Prince, finally coming to terms with his feelings.

He fell in love with the enemy.
