Unlocking Your Power

Cole's Pov:

"Are you sure you will be okay?" Zane asks his father with a worried expression.

"I'll be fine Zane, plus I have Pixel. We are going to be okay."

With that they grab their stuff and leave for the Amber Kingdom, where the wedding would be happening. The cool winter breeze has Lloyd shivering, and Cole is trying his best to keep him warm. He can't help but worry about Kai. I'll save you, he thinks to himself.

They had been traveling for an hour at this point, about to cross from the Ice Kingdom to the Amber Kingdom. A sudden earthquake had made them fall to their knees. It wasn't big, but still strong.

"What was that!?" Cole asked Zane.

"An ice dragon."

They turned to see a giant ice dragon loom over them. It has pure white scales and blue spikes going down from its forehead to the end of its tail that resemble icicles. It slams its tail on the ground, making us fall again. It sends a blast at Zane, who barely dodges it.

He tries to find a safe spot for Lloyd but the forest was too far for him to make. It sends a blast at him, who dives out of the way in time. He sees a flash of blue and turns to Zane who was blasting the dragon in the eye.

"I am Zane, a robot built to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and you will step away from my friends!"

The dragon focuses on Zane, blasting directly on him, but Zane just shrugs it off like it was nothing. As the dragon shifts its tail it knocks Lloyd away for either of their reach.

Cole had felt a power run through his body, as emotions took him over. He lost control of his body, feeling his fists slam against the ground. Rocks spread in front of him, all the way to the dragon's belly, knocking it down for a moment.

Did I do that, he wondered. He had no time to think and ran over to Lloyd, grabbing him.

"Cole, you have an elemental power!" Zane didn't take his eyes off the dragon, still blasting it, but was smiling at his friend.

He always knew he was unusually strong, but never had he suspected it would be elemental power. He sent another set of spikes at the dragon, combined with Zane's Ice blast it lost its balance. However, when it fell it grabbed Lloyd with its tail. It began to turn its head, opening its jaw to blast him.

"Lloyd!" Cole screamed and ran to Lloyd. He wouldn't lose him too.

But before he could reach Lloyd a green flash blasted him back. Lloyd was flying, a green aura surrounding him, and his mint green eyes now glowing electric green. Lloyd reached his hand out and blasted the dragon with a green projectile.

And with that the dragon was gone.

Lloyd slowly descended to the ground, but his green aura around him didn't disappear. He curled up into a ball, repeating the same phrase over and over.

"I'm sorry, please don't leave me, I'm sorry, please don't leave me..."

Cole walked over to the boy who was crying.

"Hey, hey, Lloyd, it's okay. I won't leave you."

He entered the green aura, the feeling of Lloyd's powers overpowering his. He gave the blonde boy a hug, holding him close. The boy clutched onto his clothes, crying into Cole's shoulder.

"I'm sorry, I won't do it again, please don't leave."

Cole felt Lloyd's pain.

"Hey, buddy, it's okay. I promise I'll never leave. You only did what you needed to. That dragon had it coming."

The aura around them faded and Lloyd's eyes returned to normal.

"But, m-my mommy said- said 'you are no longer my s-son' and left."

Cole hugged the boy tighter, saying "well, I'll never leave you, you did the right thing Lloyd."

After Lloyd calmed down they continued on their journey. Cole couldn't believe someone could do that to a child, one who was so pure hearted too.

After a few more hours they had reached the Amber Kingdom.
