A Prince and Spy (Ninjago Lava)

Confession

Kai's Pov:

As he, Lloyd, Zane and Cole headed for the throne, preparing for the journey he had ahead of him, the Ice Prince is called to door's by someone named Pixel.

"Pixel, your back!" Zane runs up to her, hugging her for a moment.

"I have brought some guests", the robot-girl gestures her hand to the Prince of Lightning and Nya

"Nya, you're here! Wait, why are you here?" I look at her as she turns her head, as if upset.

"Father is going to destroy the Lightning Kingdom, I went back to warn Jay, but he didn't listen."

"We didn't know you guys were here, we just came for shelter then met Pixel", the Lightning Prince finished.

He looked at Cole with my worried face, but remembered the plan.

"I was going to get you soon actually, we may have a plan."

"Correction, we do have a plan", Zane says. I give him a glare, but he doesn't seem to care.

As Kai explains the plan he can see Nya and Jay's face light up, but only a little.

"It might work, or not-" Jay looks as if he was about to spiral, then Nya places her hand on his shoulder.

He could have sworn he saw them both blush for a moment, almost as if-

He doesn't even finish his thought, realizing what was going on between them.

"Well, I for one would like to speak to Nya in private! You know- about the plan." Kai glances at Nya before dragging her into a separate room.

"WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!?! CRUSHING ON JAY!!" Kai loudly whispers to her, clutching on her shoulders.

"Speak for yourself! Ever since you met Cole you have been so happy, and giggling constantly."

"I- I just have hope for the future of our Kingdoms!"

But could the things his sister been saying true? He had felt happier than ever, and he did admire Cole's personality. He did sometimes think Cole was rather cute and-

He cut off his thought, letting go of his sisters shoulders to put his hands on his face.

"Admit it, you're like him", his sister was now smirking.

"Fine, I like him, but if Jay ever breaks your heart I'll-"

"Yeah, yeah, I know."

They went about the rest of the day planning and packing for the journey they had ahead of them. But Kai couldn't keep his eyes off Cole. As Cole took care of Lloyd, he smiled to himself. A few times Cole caught Kai looking, but he quickly looked away.

As they were about to go to sleep, Kai looked at the sleeping boy. Or so he thought.

"Are you okay Kai, if you wanna talk, we can", Cole said, getting up and sitting on his bed.

"I- I'm just worried, what if everything goes wrong?" Cole sat next to Kai, looking him in the eyes.

"Kai, sure it's risky, but we have to hold out hope. If we didn't have hope I'm afraid I never would have met you."

That was what made Kai realize if things did go wrong, he would never get to tell Cole how he felt.

"I have something to tell you."

"What is it Kai?"

"I- I like you, a lot. I have since I met you as Aaron. You make me so happy and I was wondering if you felt the same?"

Cole just sat there, open mouthed, starring. Kai was about to get up and leave, thinking Cole didn't feel the same. Maybe I could burn snow, his mind thought.

But suddenly he felt a hand on his head pull him in for a kiss. Cole's lips were soft, welcoming Kai's.

They pulled away, and Cole put his hands on Kai's waist.

"I like you too, Kai."
