"Hey wait ! I wanna see Tsireya." I quickly stood up trying to ring out the excess water from my braids. Rotxo floated away leading me towards the girls. I noticed that Kiri just stood there waiting for Rotxo- odd. But I soon spotted Tsireya gathering sea shells as she walked on the shore line. Her hair was undone creating a poofy halo of curl around her head. She seemed to be truly in her element.
"Hey Reya !" Though I was still far away I was trying not to scare her.
"Oh hey Lo'ak !" As her eyes met mine they appeared almost clear. Like there was no pigment besides a small black pupil in her eyes. Though her soft and soothing voice felt calming.
"What are you doing ?" Of course I knew what she was doing, but whenever I let Kiri explain her hobby her mood always shifts. She'll seem enthusiastic and truly happy. I wanted to make Tsireya feel the same way- like someone cared about what she has to say.
"Oh well- I'm looking for sea glass. So what you do is fine little pieces of glass plates or other glass items in the rocks. Sometimes they have little details on them, like flowers or lines or words or... sorry I'm kinda rambling." Once she talked it reminded me so much of when we were on the phone. She would find a topic that she's truly passionate about and then drop it. This devastated me.
"No, no I wanna hear more." I carefully positioned my hand on her shoulder pressing in. Just trying to turn her attention back towards me, so that she could see how much I cared about her. About what she had to say.
"I'll show you."
A small wave died down, now just a light pool of water graced are feet. Tsireya kneeled down next to a patch of many small rocks and broken shells.
"See this one right here ! It's looks just like a small piece of glass- but when we flip it over..." Her hand swiftly flipped the piece over to reveal a gray line. "Ehhhh this one isn't the best, but it's still one !"
"Oh thats kinda cool..." I stretched over the shards, reaching for the chunk of glass. I started to examine the glass seeing how smooth it was- usually a piece like this would be sharp and hard to touch. But not this one.
"Why is so- smooth ?"
"Well the ocean kinda polished it up for us. Just the natural current made it like that."
"Hu."
I lifted my focal point to Tsireya, watching her smile grow as I kept staring. Admiring the small dimples that were coming in. As the sun set it casts the perfect mood lighting for are moment.
"So this is a hobby of yours ?"
"Yes ! Sea glass, shells, anything to do with the ocean, rocks, ect."
"That's cool. My hobbies are kinda boring like video games, ummm cars, ummmm..."
"BEEP","BEEP" A large horn sounded causing both me and Tsireya to abandon are conversation.
"Let's go sexy thing !" My eyes followed a guy in a good size truck yelling at my sister who was still in the ocean with Rotxo.
The guy looked to be about are age- quite musclier with luscious curly hair. He drove a dark blue CHEVROLET SILVERADO- which was at least a 60,000 dollar truck. Something I couldn't afford for at least many many years.(Spiders truck⬇️)
Though my brotherly instincts kicked in. I shot up and ran as fast as my legs would move towards my sister. I met with Neteyam, giving him worried looks as we jogged in unison.
"Hey Kiri who the fuck is that guy ?" I questioned.
"Spider."
"More info Kiri." Neteyam kept pressing her- which I'm glad he did and not me.
"My date."
Are eyes became like saucers as the words left her mouth. We tried to convince her to stay but she just brushed are concern off.
"What do you know about him ?" I watched as Neteyam turned to Aonung.
"He's a shitty person. I'd be worry for Kiri." His words sounded stern, though Aonung was a serious person this was something different.
"Hey, guys. What you wanna do ?" Rotxo seemed happy at least.
"Well it's getting kinda late, so you guys wanna grab something to eat ?" I figured that food would take my mind off of Kiri. At least I really hoped it would.
"Sure ! I know a really good taco truck around the corner." Tsireya looked around as she spoke. So unsure of herself.
Aonung was able to break the tension that Kiri caused, "Sounds good !" We grouped off in pairs as we walked. Luckily I was right next to Tsireya. "So Tsireya what's up with this spider guy ?" I tried my best to whisper though my obvious anger. "He's done some pretty shitty things..." hers words stunned me. Though normal to me Tsireya would never even come close to a cuss word.
Unexpectedly, the pungent sent of hearty spicy lifted my spirit. Just off the beach on the side of 'snake Ln' sat a colorful taco truck. Small wired tables with large yellow umbrellas were placed right out front. Seemed like a special little place.
From the corner of my eye I was able to notice Rotxo dragging himself, "Hey man are you okay ?"
"Yeah, I'm okay." He tried to readjust himself to seem sure in his words- but I knew it was fake.
"Okay sure... what you want ?"
"I'll take two red hots"
"Kk"
I placed mine and Rotxo orders- just getting the same as him. After are food was out I followed Aonung to a large and unknown tree. The leaves were very circular with small purple flowers blooming all over. I began inspecting my food- it was some kind of red meaty substance in a corn tortilla.
"Kinda wish Kiri was here." Tsireya mumbled while taking another bite.
"Nah- she couldn't eat here anyways !" About a second after I spoke my ribs were met with Teys elbow.
"Why ?" Aonung seemed genuinely curious.
"Shes vegan." Neteyam said so bluntly it was clear thats were the conversation should end.
"Cool." Rotxo's response really did seem genuine. Like he didn't care. Most people judge Kiri- but it was so normal to me I never thought twice about it anymore.
"Hey mama's boy !" Before I could even register what was happening the same guy Kiri had left with just got a clear shot to Rotxo's face. I dropped my food, reaching out to grab him by the collar. I didn't really have a plan, so I collided my fist with something hard. A stinging sensation froze my entire arm as 'spider' stepped back- hand hiding his face. I watched as his eyes became wide and his stance changed. He positioned his feet into a runners stance before launching himself onto me. We tousled on the ground for a moment before Tey and Aonung had to come separate us. Before they pulled us apart I didn't even notice anyone else around.
"Whatever asswhole- at least I'll have fun fuckin your sister." Kiri shot her head back in embarrassment.
"Yeah okay..." I flipped him off as Tey guided me away. Who the fuck does this guy think he is ??? Tey sat me down next to Rotxo- underneath the same odd leaf tree once again. He looked in bad shape, spider really got a cheap shot on him.
"Thx man."
"Of course- I kinda wanted to do that anyway..."
"You really think Kiri's gunna be with him ?" I could see tears gathering in his eyes.
"I dont know. I get he's a bad guy but I can't stop Kiri..." Though my nosiness wanted to know more, "why do you care ?"
"Tell you about it later ?" He stuck his pinky up with a promising look to his grin.
"Sure man !" I excepted his gesture without a thought.
