Unexpected hero (Pro hero Todoroki Shoto x Chubby FEM reader)

Chapter 9

You all look at each other then towards the door in time to see the flame hero walk in and he instantly stared at you.

"Who is this?" he asks bluntly.

"Enji!" Rei gasps then scolds him "be nice to our guest. Don't be so rude"

"Mrs Todoroki it's fine" you comfort her as you stand up and walk over to the talk male and say firmly "Pleasure to meet you Mr Todoroki. My name is Doctor L/N Y/N. I am a friend of your son Shoto"

You put out your hand for him to shake it as you look him dead in the eyes with a firm strong expression. He looks back at you for a few seconds as everyone stares at you both nervously even Fuyumi poked her head out the kitchen to watch the scene.

"Nice to meet you" he says suddenly giving you a firm handshake which you return and everyone sighs on relief.

"Come now Enji. Take a seat. Fuyumi will be brining dinner" Rei says with a soft smile.

"Of course" he replies bluntly as he walks over and sits next to Rei.

Huh? Must be how he talks... Miserable git you thought as you sat next to Shoto.

"Are you okay?" Shoto whispers to you.

"Remember I'm basically a female you. I have dealt with his kind so I know how to work with them. They can smell fear" you whisper back with a giggle making Shoto chuckle slightly.

"What are you two giggling?" Fuyumi teases as she places down the food down.

"Just an inside joke" Shoto says quickly making you surprised.

"Since when did you do inside joke Shoto?" Natsuo chuckles whole elbowing his side playfully.

"I have grown more social since UA so I'm bound to learn things" Shoto tells him.

"Right everyone. Dig in" Fuyumi says and you all serve up food.

"Thanks for the food" you all say before eating.

"Fuyumi this Soba is delicious." you say with a smile.

"Thank you Y/N. Since Sho has been busy with his hero work he doesn't come here too often so as its his favorite food I make it when he visits" Fuyumi tells you "he prefers his cold though"

"Soba is delicious but cold soba is the best in my opinion" you giggle unaware of the perplexed look on Shoto's face as he lightly touches his chest.

"Shoto, are you okay? Is something wrong?" Rei asks concerned.

"Hm? Oh yes" Shoto responds "Just my heart did something abnormal"

Istantly your doctor mode kicked in and Natsuo noticed the look on your face and laughs a little.

"Always a doctor even when not working, ey Y/N?" he says.

"It's engrained" you chuckle dryly while tapping your head then look at Enji and Rei then Shoto "May I use my quirk to check Shoto? I'm only asking because I know some households don't enjoy guests using their quirks in their home"

"I don't see an issue. What are you doing exactly?" Enji asks.

"Just a scan. I have a quirk that can detect internal and external injuries and issues with the body" you explain.

"I have seen it once" Natsuo chimes in "pretty impressive"

"You flatter me Natsuo" you chuckle then look at Shoto as you eyes change colour and you scan his body then mutter "heart seems fine. Nothing wrong with both atriums. Nothing wrong with both ventricles. Tricuspid, pulmonary, mitral and aortic is fine as well"

You de activate your quirk to see everyone except Natsuo look at you silently with mouths agape even Enji.

"Uh? Everything okay?" you ask nervously.

"That... Was.... So amazing!!" Fuyumi exclaims.

"That is very impressive" Rei says with a smile.

"No matter how many times you do that it still amazes me" Shoto chuckles "So what is wrong then?"

"Nothing is wrong. Occasional heart palpations or 'flutters' as people put them are normal and never a cause for concern" you tell him "even if there was I could have healed you most probably"

"Healed?" Enji now speaks.

"Mhm the second quirk of mine. As you know fat contains energy so my second quirk converts that to help the body heal and also to transfer energy. It's a good quirk only draw back is I can't really lose weight no matter how much exercise or healthy eating I do" you explain.

"Interesting." Enji comments taking a bite of his food "Oh Shoto. I would like to talk to you iny office with Miss L/N after dinner"

The family stop eating then suddenly snap their heads to their father/husband.

"No." Shoto states coldly and your eyes widen at his sudden tone but his next words shock you "I'm not getting into a quirk marriage."
