Eleven days had passed since Cooper turned 13. At the studio, the girls were all sitting down while the moms stood in their usual spots. Abby and Cooper stood at the chalkboard, ready to address the group.

"Let's talk about the last competition four weeks ago," Abby began, her tone stern. "I am really disappointed. Every single one of you could have done better with your solos."

The girls exchanged nervous glances. Abby's critiques were always tough to hear.

"What is going to be happening this week?" Abby asked, her eyes scanning the room.

"ALDC showcase?" Paige guessed, her voice tentative.

"Correct, Paige," Abby replied with a nod. "The Abby Lee Dance Company showcase is an event where we present competition numbers you've done previously. Your families and friends will come to see the results. Also, we will be doing a new group dance known as 'Sugar Daddies' for the showcase. I have a few surprises up my sleeve. I don't want to pressure you, but there will be an agent coming to seek new talent. He's already met Cooper a few times since he became famous."

The room erupted in claps and cheers. The excitement was palpable.

"Here's another surprise," Abby continued, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. "Moms, you'll be dancing in the showcase as well. And Cathy, you'll be the choreographer."

The girls tried to stifle their laughter as the moms looked mortified. Cathy, on the other hand, was taken aback but soon burst into laughter.

"You moms are all in for trouble," Cathy stated, shaking her head.

"In addition, we have a duet called 'Tiki Room' featuring Cooper and Brooke," Abby announced. The room filled with cheers as Cooper and Brooke exchanged grins. "Nationals are getting nearer, and with every competition, you get stronger and better. Although this showcase is a chance to entertain rather than compete, it's equally important as it leads up to Nationals. What do we want to do?"

"Win," Cooper and the girls responded in unison.

"Correct. Moms, you can exit. Coop, girls, let's start warming up."

The moms headed upstairs to the observation room as rehearsals began.

The next day in Studio C, Cathy was demonstrating the moves for the moms' dance called "That Girl's Just Gotta Be Kissed." Melissa, Christi, Holly, and Kelly watched intently. Years ago, Kelly had danced for Abby, and now she was back in the studio, feeling a mix of nostalgia and nerves.

Upstairs in the observation room, Cooper and the girls watched the moms' rehearsal, amused. They munched on popcorn, enjoying the show.

"It's a good thing you brought some popcorn," Maddie told Cooper, grinning.

"Yeah," Cooper replied, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

"This is so embarrassing," Brooke chuckled, shaking her head.

"It is," Paige agreed, giggling.

"It's kind of funny seeing the moms dance," Mackenzie remarked, her eyes wide with amusement.

"You never know what Miss Abby has up her sleeve," Nia added, her tone thoughtful.

"Coop, your mom is really unpredictable," Chloe said, nudging Cooper.
