He knew it wasn't pleasant for his boyfriend.  A lot was happening at the same time.  He searched the entire building, and when it finally occurred to him to look out the window, he spotted First sitting alone on the edge of the pool at the back of the Institute.  He looked moody.  The sight made Khao tremble unpleasantly and caused him to have dark thoughts.  He was afraid that First in such a state might hurt himself again, he saw the scars and they were the ones he feared the most.  He was worried that one day this darkness would consume his beloved, take him from him forever, dragging him into its bottomless abyss.

First's sadness was so palpable that it seemed to Khaotung that all he had to do was reach out in front of him to catch some.  And that brought up a possibility the young Formula 1 driver didn't even want to think about.  First felt as if he had been struck straight in the heart, a blow that was not intended to kill him, but one that was intended to cause as much pain as possible.

Somewhere outside, or perhaps behind him, wolves howled and owls hooted, typical of this time of night.  He knew that Newwie and Tay had promised to take the night watch tonight in case anything happened, but now there was nothing that worried him more than the First sitting alone.

"I've been looking for you for so many years without even knowing who or what I'm looking for, and once I find you, you elude me, slip through my fingers, disappear in front of my eyes.  Please don't do this, be strong, please, I need you, what will I do if I miss you?" He thought as he ran down loudly the stairs and passed the last stragglers who had not yet gone to bed. He also passed NuNew, walking outside with a small telescope in his hands, peering through the device into the night sky. Khao had no idea what New was trying to see, but from the slightly frustrated expression on his face, he bet he had failed. Tung was extremely melancholy mood deepened by the silver moonlight that bathed the buildings and reflected in the rippling water of the pool, shimmering beautifully and giving the area an air of fairytale. They were almost completely silent, punctuated by the howl of the wind sneaking through the empty walls of the top floors of their building, which to the Non-Magicians was just an old, empty, abandoned and unfinished hotel forever stuck under construction. is behind an impassable barrier for them, their eyes were blind, their ears deaf.  Only occasionally did Natasitt play tricks on a broken-looking piano or unexpectedly slam doors without revealing his presence.  There were terrifying and chilling legends about this place where only the wind could dwell, howling piteously through the empty walls like a mother who has lost her beloved child.  The walls were scrawled with graffiti and weeds had grown all around.  At least that's how the Non-Magical saw it.  For Khaotung and First, however, it was a perfectly equipped and located huge building of the Shadowhunter Institute in Thailand, a branch called the Knights of the Light with their own college called the Academy of the Knights of the Light, a military unit consisting of the best trained Squibs and those hybrids who volunteered for this role.

It was a well-organized unit that concealed passages to parallel universes.  Gemini and Fourth would soon use one of these crossings.  Khaotung could only guess what First was afraid of, although he never felt it, he was always a loner by nature, didn't surround himself with many people, didn't keep in close contact with his family members, and kept his fans at a distance as well.  Apart from his own father, who has already left this world, Khaotung has never had anyone close enough to understand his boyfriend's feelings, yet he tried his best to put himself in his shoes, to look at everything through First's eyes to understand him better and comfort him if he needed it.

Khaotung sat down behind First, resting his chin on his shoulder.  He wrapped both arms around his waist and pulled him closer.

“Don't worry so much, your brother will be safe there.”
