3. Kim Minji

Hanni pov:

"Kim Minji?!" I yelled and then immediately covered my mouth.

"Oh? You know me?" She was surprised, I can tell. "Well, I think I have to explain everything to you" She smiled politely and sat in the armchair.

I sat up straight on the couch, my body tensed, I wasn't sure how I have to react to all those things.

"Minki is my good friend" She said in a calm tone.

My jaw dropped, but I remain silence.

"Don't get me wrong I was really surprised when she came to me yesterday with you in her arms and asked for help. She asked me if I can look for you while she dealing with some... Stuff" She looked me in the eyes. "She'll come for you in few days, until then I'll be with you"

I was silent, but then I felt that something was wrong in here. I stood up and looked around.

"I feel like you're not telling me something" I said, trying to remain calm. "How can I even believe you? What if you're lying and it's you who have stolen me from Minki, huh?" I started to panic.

She frowned and stood up. She took out her phone and called someone. In few minutes I heard Minki's voice in the phone.

"Hey-hey Minji~ what's up?"

"Your girlie suspects that I am her kidnapper, can you please tell her not to panic too much?" She sighed and looked at me with a smile.

"Miss Hanni Pham, I can tell you, this nerd can't even kill a fly, so you don't have to worry"

"You'll be the first person who I'll kill" Minji hissed and end up the call. "Now you believe me?"

I nodded, but I seemed to be even more upset. From the beginning of my stalking on Kim Minji, my biggest theory was that she is the Spider-Minki, but now it's crashed into pieces.

I guess my annoyance was visible, but Minji decided not to talk about that.

"You want to eat something?" She asked softly. Her voice was deep, but so soft at the same time, it made me blush a little.

"Yeah, I'm starving... Thanks" I smiled, it was barely visible, but still.

She then lead me to the kitchen. Only when she started cooking and let me look around I finally understood.

"I'm in Kim Minji's house." My eyes widened when I thought about this.

"Why was I even upset, I'm in her fucking house! I don't even need to stalk on her anymore, I just have to find clues about her secret" I grinned at the thought.

Maybe I can ask...

"Um... May I ask a question?" I looked in her direction.

She just smiled and nodded at me. She loves to smile. I mean with her beautiful face it's not even surprising that she has such a pretty smi-..

Ugh, what am I even thinking about?...

"How did you... Met Minki?" I wasn't sure what to ask first.

She seemed to be taken aback by the question. After clearing her throat she looked at me, finishing with the breakfast.

"We studied in the same college. She was a pretty good scientist, but a very... strange one. I don't even remember how we started to hang out, but it was fun. After finishing the college we were still talking and few years ago she came to me all injured and panting." Minji frowned "It was the first time when she actually fought and she asked me for help. I helped her with her injures and most of the modifications that she added to her suit were made by me"

She put the plate with food in front of me.

"Want some coffee?" She smiled.

I nodded, still processing the things that she said.

"So you're like... Best friends?"

"Yeah, I guess so. We're pretty similar so it wasn't so hard to become friends" She quickly made me some coffee. "Any more questions?"

I took a bite of the omelette she made and sighed. It was actually delicious, never knew that a scientist like her can cook so well.

"Why did she brought me here?" I looked at Minji she seemed conflicted.

"Well... She doesn't really ask for my help often, if she comes to me that means that something really bad is happening. She said that someone is going after you so we had to hide you somewhere" She looked out of the window. "I don't know the details"

I was shocked. Going after me? Why? Who? What they even want from me?...

Minji noticed my panic and put her hand on my shoulder, circling it with her finger.

"No need to panic... You have a superhero that will make sure you're safe" She whispered. The tone of her voice now is even more calming. "Can you tell me what you could've do to... Like trigger the chase?"

I didn't even know what to say, I tried to remember what happened to me in past few days and the only thing that popped up in my mind was those criminals who tried to kill me.

"Um... Yesterday a bunch of criminals that escaped from the jail tried to kill me. I don't remember anything, because I was shocked and scared, but then Minki saved me" I wasn't sure if it was helpful.

"Did they asked you something or they just immediately tried to kill you?" Minji sat beside me and took my trembling hand in hers. I blushed at the gesture.

Then I remembered what that big guy said before he grabbed me.

"It's not good to ignore us"

Were Trey asking me about something? Shit.. I don't remember. I was so focused on Kim Minji and her secret I didn't even heard what they were saying.

I slammed my head against the table and then heard Minji laugh. She then cleared her throat and smiled at me, rubbing my red forehead.

"It's okay, no one knows what they needed from you, I guess Minki will deal with this and your task for now it staying safe"

Suddenly we both heard a phone buzzing. Minji took it out of her pocket and answered the call.

"Mhm, got it, I'll be there soon" She end up the call and took her bag with her. "I need to go to work, please don't leave the house, if you'll need something, call me, here's my phone number" She wrote her number on the piece of paper and gave it to me.

"Okay, bye" I waved at her.

"Bye bye" She then closed the door and a cheeky grin appeared on my face.

"It's time for investigation"
