Sitting inside an old minivan, a family of three was currently driving on a highway with huge piles of luggage packed in the trunk. The family consisted of a man, a woman, and their daughter who had a striking resemblance to her mother. She was a four-year-old girl with brown eyes, short brunette hair, and pink visible cheeks. She lived in a society where 80% of the world had superpowers otherwise known as Quriks. Just a few days ago, she was brought to the doctor to see if she had gotten one herself. She felt like the happiest girl in the world when she found out that she was given a quirk that gave her the ability to make anything she touched weightless, dubbed the name Zero Gravity.
Because her parents were hardworking construction workers, she made the decision to grow up and become a hero so she could earn money for her parents and make an easy life. But when her parents had gotten a three-year contract in a different city, her whole life began to change.
As they drove past the sign that states 'Welcome to Musutafu,' the little girl looked outside the car window to see the big buildings and many people walking. Her mom who was sitting in the front, turned her head to look at her and could see the worried expression on her daughter's face.
"Ochaco honey," she said. "I know you're worried about being in a new area, but think of this as a new adventure"
Ochaco leaned back in her seat while still looking out the window. She was originally from the countryside where most farmers and bumpkins lived. Though her family was one of the poorest people in the area, she still loved them with all her heart knowing how hard they work to provide and support her. Times she wished she could help them, especially now that she has a quirk that'll help make their job a lot easier.
"I'm sorry Mommy. It's just, that you and Daddy are gonna work again later. And I'll be by myself again" she said lowering her head with sad puppy eyes.
"Don't worry honey, we already thought of that," her dad said smiling through the rearview mirror causing Ochaco to raise her head.
"What do you mean Daddy?" she asked curiously.
"Remember when I told you that I had a friend who lives here in this city?" her mom asked causing the Ochaco to nod as she remembered the conversation they had a few days ago.
"You mean the friend you said went to school together?" she asked in confirmation.
"Yup. Her name is Inko. She's the one who helped us find an apartment to live in. You could call it luck, that the apartment across from where she lived was vacant," she explained to her. "And that's not the best part"
Hearing that, made her eyes widen in excitement, due to the fact she loves surprises.
"What?! What?!" she asked while jumping up and down in my seat.
"She has a son who's about your age," her mother said causing Ochaco to stop jumping while her face turned into one of confusion.
"Huh? A son? You mean a boy?" she asked.
"That's right. She told me he was kind and very respectful. I have a feeling you two will be good friends," her mom said before turning back to look in the front. Ochaco couldn't help but be very curious and concerned. Back where she's from, besides her, there weren't a lot of kids her age. Some moved to different parts of Tokyo to either go to high school or just to find better opportunities. So for her family, the 'find better opportunities' option was right on the money, literally.
Eventually, she was brought out of her thoughts when she felt the car pull to a stop. Looking out the window, her eyes widened upon seeing the big apartment that was now gonna be her home.
