At around 6 in the evening, Izuku in his casual shirt and shorts was currently on his computer, in his room, on the website of Ousei Academy going through their selections of classes and co-circular activities. As he used the mouse to scroll through it, Sachi sat on his lap while Plagg sat next to him on his desk, eating a whole tray of sakura cheese. A few times, he would open a new tab and look up more about how he could be a better superhero and hide his identity better which mostly involves studying cat puns. As he went through the list, the sound of knocking on his door caused him to perk up and close all tabs relating to his alter ego.
"Plagg, hide," he whispered to the little Kwami. Taking up his whole tray of cheese, Plagg flew straight into Izuku's closet. Izuku stood up, closed the closet door, made sure he was wearing pants and opened his room door to see Ochaco standing there in casual clothes as well.
"Hey, Ochaco," he said welcoming in the smiling girl.
"Thanks for inviting me Deku," she said as he closed the door after she walked in. Once she sat on his bed, she noticed something strange about it. Looking at the color, she noticed that it wasn't the same blue All Might-themed color he usually has. This time, the sheets and pillow were just plain black. Looking around the room, she gasped at what she saw. Some of the posters she had seen the last time she came into his room were taken down. She knew he was serious when he said he was done with becoming a hero, but she didn't think he had taken it so far. It felt very unlike him to her.
"You okay?" he asked snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Huh? Oh sorry," she said as Sachi crawled up onto the bed and laid on her lap. While scratching her head, she gazes at his walls again. "I'm just surprised that, you were serious about the whole not being a hero thing anymore"
"Yeah," he said scratching his head. "I can't keep living in the past forever right?"
"R-Right. Sorry, it's just a lot to take in, this change," she said back to him.
Izuku in response turned to the computer and said, "Sometimes change is for the better right?"
Hearing that, Ochaco gently placed Sachi on his bed, got up, and walked over to him. As he typed on the computer, he felt a pair of arms wrap around him from behind which surprised him, though not troubled him since he had received hugs from Ochaco countless times. As he still stared at the monitor, he heard Ochaco whisper to him.
"Change is good, but not if it makes you a completely different person Deku," she said to him, causing him to raise his head slightly. She may not know it, but Izuku was discreetly staring at the silver ring that was on the finger of his clenched hand. He began to ponder if he should really tell her about his alter ego, but now that the whole of Japan knew about Mochibug and Black Neko, there was no denying the villains would after all the people he loved. "So no matter who you become in the future, promise me you will be the same Deku who I grew up with"
With his eyes closed, Izuku smiled and placed a hand on one of the arms Ochaco had wrapped around him.
"I promise," he said to her which made her breathe with some ease. Peeking through the closet where Plagg had rushed in, two figures peeked through the gaps smiling at them.
"Your old holder chose amazingly Plagg," Tikki said looking through gaps beside her kwami counterpart.
"I admit, this kid's not bad, but he's gotta work on his confidence. It's kinda annoying to comfort him every time he transforms back," Plagg said scarfing down the last piece of cheese.
"What do you mean?" Tikki asked. "Wasn't he acting like that to conceal his identity?"
"He was," he said before looking down at his tiny hands. "But after sleeping in the ring for all these years, the increased destruction powers I got might have affected his brain"
