Currently waiting at the Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall, Ochaco stood by the entrance waiting for Izuku to arrive. Looking at her watch and then left to right, she couldn't help but be worried due to the fact that he was literally an hour late, plus it was already raining.
"Where is he?" she said in a quiet voice before reaching into her pocket to pull out her flip phone. She already called him 10 times and each time, she was just sent to voice mail. "He always answers his phone"
She began pressing the keypads, about to call him an 11th time but stopped when she overheard someone past her talking about something.
"Hey, did you hear about the Sludge Villain attack that happened?" she heard the person say walking past him with their friend beside him.
"Yeah. They didn't announce it on TV but it's all over on social media," their friend said. "Something about a middle school kid running into a fire to save some guy who was releasing explosions all place from the villain"
That right there caused her to get very curious. She knew it wasn't her place to butt into other people's conversation but because her curiosity got the better of her, she walk up to the two guys, tapped their shoulders to gain their attention, and asked them a question.
"I'm sorry for butting in but can you tell me exactly what happened today?" she asked wanting to know more.
"Oh sure, no problem," the guy said before pulling out his phone and tapping the screen. He then showed Ochaco the screen which just happens to be a video on social media. "Here, this happened earlier"
Carefully looking at the video, she could see a crowd gathering in front of an alleyway watching a slime villain holding a hostage. Looking closely, her eyes widened when she saw who the hostage was.
"My God Bakugo," she said covering my mouth. Though she didn't like him all that much, she knew Izuku still never held a grudge against him "But who saved him?"
She got her answer when she heard the person taking the video speak, "Hey what's that kid doing?! Is he crazy?!"
I heard someone in the video say. Looking again, she saw a boy running into the fire. The video was a bit blurry but she tried her best to make out who it was. Finally adjusting her eyes properly, her eyes widened when she could make out the green hair, a black uniform, and red sneakers. She didn't want to believe that it was him, but she knew very well there was only one person I ever met who matched those characteristics.
"Man, I gotta admit, that guy had some balls," the other guy said as they both walked away right after Ochaco gave back their phone. Ochaco was left there staring at the floor with fear building up in her heart. Once again, she pulled out her cell phone and was just about to dial him again, when the sound of footsteps caused her finger to hover over the buttons. Walking in the rain without an umbrella, she saw the person she was just about to call walking slowly in her direction with his head down.
"Deku!" she shouted dropping her bag so she could run towards him despite the rain wetting her uniform. Once she was in front of him, Izuku stopped his walking. "My god Deku, I heard what happened. Are you o..."
Not another word left her mouth when she saw the look on his face. It was not the happy and cheerful Izuku she grew up with and fell in love with. She was faced with the Izuku that she thought she helped get rid of when they were little, the one with a broken spirit.
