( A/n: Get your emotional support pillow, now. )
Merletta and the Monstruonian knights were standing outside of the human kingdom as a giant creature made of shadows was walking through the kingdom, seemingly trying to get to the Gloreth statue.
Joe: ( to Merletta and the other Monstruonian knights: ) I told you guys, it's freaky.
Merletta's eyes then widened when they saw that the cannons were pointing into the kingdom.
Gwaine: Holy shit!
Joe: Whoa... That's totally not good, dudes.
Arthur: What are the humans doing? Don't they realize that they are going to kill themselves.
Weretiger Monstruonian knight: The poor thing isn't even trying to hurt anyone.
Merletta then took a deep breath and teleported herself into the human kingdom, near the Gloreth statue, she watched as the creature went right up to the statue, ignoring the screams of the people that were running away. Merletta could see the pain and sadness in the creature's eyes. Merletta then knew what the creature was going to do when they made an opening for the blade of the statue to aim for their heart, and when the creature raised their head to the sky, and as it screamed while moving towards the blade, Merletta was ready to use her magic to destroy the statue to stop the creature when... A knight in dark armor and with a robotic arm, managed to make his way up the statue and stopped the creature. The knight then dropped his sword, the creature then looked at him, Merletta watched with a confused yet amazed expression by what she was seeing. She was able to hear what the knight was saying to the creature, due to every human around her being silent.
Dark armored knight ( Ballister ): I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I see you, Nimona. And you're not alone.
After those last words were said, the creature slowly shifted into a girl with short red hair, Merletta recognized the girl from the one in one of her repeating dreams. Merletta then teleports herself back to the Monstruonian knights, outside the human kingdom.
Arthur: Lady Merletta! What were you thinking! The human could've-
Merletta: I'm going back to the palace, if you clotpoles choose to stay or not, don't bother me.
Merletta then teleports herself into her room, in the castle of Monstruon. She then looked at her reflection in the vanity mirror in her room, and glared at her own reflection with hatred in her eyes, especially her Gloreth features.
Merletta: ( to her reflection in the mirror, with venom in her voice: ) Go back to the shadows from once you came.
The magic radiating from Merletta's hatred caused the mirror to crack, and Merletta then uses her magic to leviate the mirror and....threw it out her window.
Captain of the Royal Guard: ( off-screen, is outside, standing on the ground underneath Merletta's window: ) What the?! Lady Merletta! You must stop throwing mirrors out of your window! This is the tenth one this week, and it's only Wednesday!
Merletta then heard her door open and turned to see that Wren had went in her room, Wren looked at Merletta with tears in her eyes.
Merletta: ( to Wren, worried: ) What's wrong, Wren? Did you have a nightmare or something...?
Wren: ( mimics Merletta's voice: ) nightmare
Merletta sighed before she picked Wren up and placed her on her lap as she sat down on her bed.
Merletta: ( to Wren, calmly as she wiped away the kenku's tears: ) Have you ever heard of the story about the immortal girl?
Wren shakes her head " no ", and a sad smile formed on Merletta's face.
Merletta: Once upon a time, there was an immortal girl who was trapped in the woe of the purpose her creator gave her, she tried for many years to free herself from her woe with friends and even tried to find love, but no matter what she did, she continued to become trapped again when she felt like she was free... It was to a point she went to the kingdom's seer as her last hope, she asked the seer if she would ever be free from the burden her immortality gave her, and the seer said " you will only be free from your sorrow and woe, when someone sees through the person you once were, and sees the true you. " Confused yet had slight hope, the immortal girl left and began waiting for someone to see her true self. They say, she is still waiting today...
Merletta then heard small coos and looked at Wren to see that she had fallen asleep, making Merletta smile slightly before frowning with sadness in her eyes as she looked out the window from her bed, with Wren sleeping in her arms.
