Merletta, Nimona, Joe, Wren, Ballister, and Ambrosius were in the knights' dining hall, and Joe held out a deck of Uno cards.
Joe: Uno, dudes. Best game in the kingdom, that's Wren can play without needing to talk.
Merletta: ( raises her brow at Joe ) Seriously? Uno?
Joe: Yes. What's up, you don't like Uno or something Merletta?
Merletta calmly takes the deck from Joe, then calmly shuffles the cards without breaking eye contact with Joe with ease, and gives everyone their cards.
Merletta: I once won a bet by winning uno against a general, and it stopped a war.
Everyone looked at her in shock by this, Nimona was smiling at Merletta.
Joe: ( to Merletta: ) You're the one that stopped the war between the Werewolves and the weretigers?!
Merletta: Let's just start the game.
( Ten rounds of Uno later, aka about an hour later )
Merletta had won every round of Uno, now only Nimona was playing against the immortal girl, determined to beat her. Everyone else was just watching the two. Merletta only had two cards left while Nimona only had three. Wren was asleep and was currently being held by Ballister, making cute little bird sounds in her sleep.
Merletta: ( to Nimona, a bit teasingly, trying to throw Nimona off: ) As cute as it is that you think you could beat me. I am going to have to end this round and game. ( Puts down a reverse card ) Uno, and it's your turn, shape-shifter.
Nimona: Nice try, Princess, but it'll take a lot more than flattery to throw me off. ( Puts down a blue four ) You didn't think I've noticed that you didn't have any blues, did ya?
Joe: ( whispers, to Ballister and Ambrosius, honestly: ) I can't tell if they are flirting or not, dudes. But, I totally see them being a thing, Nimona's a lot of fun and Merletta is no fun at all. It's like Fin and Pang.
Ambrosius: Joe, I think you mean " Yin and Yang "
Joe: Oh, yeah.
Merletta then gave Nimona a mischievous smirk and she puts down a plus four card, winning the game, leaving Nimona dumbfounded and amazed.
Merletta: I was actually saving my best card for last. ( Stands up from her chair ) And I do believe that's enough uno for today.
Joe: ( remembers something ) Oh, yeah! ( To Ballister, Ambrosius, and Nimona: ) Tomorrow, Spring Festival. I am totally taking you guys there, and next week, Spring ball. The ball is a lot more fun than you are thinking, dudes-
Merletta: Oh my goodness gracious! I almost forgot about the ball!
Merletta then teleports herself out of the room.
Nimona: I'll go find her.
Joe: Cool. Also, Nimona, the festival and the ball are the best places to make a move.
Ballister and Ambrosius both stiffened a chuckle, as Nimona blushed at Joe's comment.
Nimona: I have no idea what you are talking about, Joe!
