She turned, only to see her sister glaring at her, with an impeccably large smile on her face.

"He was totally hitting on you." Rebecca chided, grabbing Ella's arm, and tugging her down beside herself.

"We were having a civilized conversation. I swear, everything is 'flirting' these days, with you kids." Ella retorted, rolling her eyes sarcastically.

"Right. Because people say 'you talk about me often then, yeah?' with a smug smile just for complete civilization." Rebecca's tone was full of arrogance.

Ella only smiled. "He's too old for me."

"Actually, he's only 23. You're 16. And it wouldn't be illegal, as long as you both kept it PG." a pretty girl said.

"Oh, Ella, this is Christina. Christina, this is Ella."

Ella reached her hand to the girl, Christina taking it, and shaking her hand with a firm grip.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. Now whenever Mr. Malik talks about you, I will have a face for the name." Christina chattered, excitedly.

Ella's eyes went wide. "Mr. Malik talks about me?" she whispered.

All of the four girls, Christina, Rebecca, and 2 ginger haired girls looked at her, and nodded. All of their faces holding smug smiles.

"To a bunch of teenage girls that would go and squeal on him at any given moment?"

They all nodded again.

Ella was astonished. Why would someone like him find an interest in her?

She was so simple. And he looked to be one who would have a type. His type being definitely not her.

"I will be right back." Ella told her sister, standing from her place at the table.

She looked for a moment, around the room, not seeing him.

So she made her way down the hall, stopping a teacher to ask, "Excuse me, but do you happen to know where a 'Mr. Malik' would be as of now? I can't seem to find him."

The lady smiled and pointed down the hall. "He will be the first room in your left. He's probably just eating lunch, or going to lunch. He shouldn't be gone yet, though."

She thanked the lady, and made her way farther down the hall.

She stood in the doorway for a few seconds, before knocking on the door frame.

He looked up from his phone screen, his eyes immediately lighting up at the sight of his girl.

"You just couldn't stay away, I take it?" he boasted.

She laughed, "Of course not. But you asked me a question earlier, of which I never answered. My name is Ella. And it's been a pleasure meeting you, Zayn." she began making her way out of his office, back towards the cafeteria.

"Wait, Ella. I was just about to go to lunch, and I would be honored if you would join me." he called after her.

She smiled. "Are you sure? I don't want to bother you, or get annoying. Because believe me, I can get annoying. I just start talking non-stop, about anything. I've ended several dates before they even began just because I ramble on." her expression was serious.

Out of all the things he could have said or done, he began to laugh.
