Her heart raced as she made her way through the airport, looking for Zayn.
He had gone to New York to meet with some executives of the school board, and was coming back to her today.
He had been gone for 18 days, and they would call each other at least 3 times a day, plus any video chats.
And yet, even to him, a day without holding her, was like a day without sunshine.
Like a day without smiles, & laughter.
He looked around the crowded airport, searching for her beautiful face.
He saw her, standing in a white lace sundress, with her sunglasses on top of her head.
He automatically smiled.
Only Ella would be wearing a white dress with a denim jacket and some sandals in the middle of March.
Although, she had said that the weather had been really nice, but out of the ordinary, warm.
Today was even approaching a high of 65 degrees.
As soon as her gaze met his, her heart skipped a beat while a smile stretched across her face.
She waved at him, and laughed as she began to maneuver her way through the crowds.
Soon enough, she found herself in his warm embrace.
And she held on so tight.
As for him, he was never an emotional guy.
But for some odd reason, he felt as though he might cry.
Silly? Maybe so.
But the truth was, he had never been so in love with a person, as to actually feel like crying.
"Let's go home" she said, kissing his lips for the first time, in what felt like centuries.
The ride home was filled with talking and laughter, and multiple 'I love you's'.
It was moments like these that made life worth living.
