Chapter 33
August 9, 3015
_____2 weeks had come and gone since being called out by the cops, for the loud music, and Ella hadn't seen much of Zayn, outside of the school cafeteria.
He had been excessively busy with teaching, and she was ridiculously busy with being taught.
So when the weekend came, Zayn made sure that she was the first one he made contact with, over the phone.
He asked her if she would accompany him to lunch, and help him do some shopping, in preparation for Thanksgiving, which was the following week.
The students, & teachers were now on Thanksgiving break, giving them all time to prepare for the upcoming holiday.
Ella applied some light makeup, and put on a pair of jeans, a teal sweater, and some brown English riding boots.
The weather had been chilly, lately. Which Ella was thankful for, being that she loved the cold.
A knock on her door 10 minutes later, startled her, but she opened the door to reveal a devilishly handsome Zayn, wearing a pair of blue jeans, and a leather jacket over his navy blue t-shirt.
"Hey lovey" Ella said, hugging him.
He smirked at her, and kissed her cheek. "You look pretty"
"Thank you" she sang, grabbing her phone, and purse from off of the kitchen table.
"Are you ready, or do you need a few minutes?" he asked, following her back to her bedroom.
"Um, actually, I think I'm good to go." she smiled at him.
__________Zayn smiled at the blonde waitress as he and Ella made their way out of the restaurant.
"She was nice" Zayn said, getting into the car.
She laughed, "Oh please! She was so totally hitting on you."
Zayn gave her a crooked smile. "No she wasn't."
"Yes sir. Oh, of course. You're most definitely welcome, honey" Ella mimicked the girl.
"Are you jealous?"
"No."
"Really? You're sure about that?"
"Mhm. Do ya want to know why?" she inquired.
Zayn nodded, pulling out of the restaurant parking lot.
Ella leaned over the console of his car to whisper in his ear, "Because you didn't flirt back. Now, if you would have been flirting with her, I probably would have gotten up, and walked out of the restaurant because I'm a jealous fuck." Ella covered her mouth with her hand as the words escaped her lips.
Zayn started laughing. "You'd have been a jealous fuck if I would've started flirting with her?"
"Yeah" she said, picking at the pale pink nail polish that coated her fingernails.
Zayn lifted her chin, "You'll never have to be jealous, honey."
Ella laughed at his use of the slightly outdated term of endearment. "Thanks peaches." she said, placing a kiss to his lips.
"So what are we shopping for?" she asked as they walked, hand in hand, into the mall.
"Mainly some decorations and such."
Ella stopped and looked Zayn directly in the eye. "You know that you can get decorations at the freaking dollar store, right?"
"Well, no. I didn't know that. But who would want decorations that didn't cost but a couple of dollars? Not me. I intent to spend money on things that I need. Plus, there's something else that we need to look at while we're here."
Zayn took Ella's hand, intertwining his fingers with hers as they wandered through several different stores, picking up flowers, cornucopias, candles, table covers, place mats, and other odds and ins that Ella thought would look pretty for decorating.
And just as Zayn had promised, there was just one last shop that they needed to shop at.
He made her sit down on a bench as he took all of the bags out to his car, then returned.
"So, what kind of engagement ring do you want?" he asked as they walked into a jewelry shop.
Ella stopped in her tracks, turning to look at him.
"Are you serious?" she asked.
He couldn't help but smile, "I've never been more serious about anything in my entire life."
Her smile was so pretty, as he watched her gaze at multiple rings.
He had learned that she was a simple ring type of girl.
The kind that didn't want anything exquisite, especially when she picked out a simple ring, that was more or less just a band, with diamonds encrusted around it.
"This one is nice" she said, pointing at it, and looking at Zayn.
"That's it? That's the one you want?"
She took a quick glance at the price, which was $799 dollars, and quickly shook her head. "Um, no. Never mind."
However, Zayn had seen her looking at the price, and chuckled. "Well, I guess that's just too bad. Because that's the one you're getting."
"No, Zayn. Please. I'm not really worth you spending that much money just for you to marry me. It's okay. I mean, you know what, I don't really even need a ring." she said with a smile.
Zayn laughed, "bullshit. Hey can we get some help over here, please?"
"Zayn, please stop." Ell begged, grabbing hold of his arm.
"Baby, you need to stop. I'd spend every last penny that I own on you. You are worth more than a measly $800 dollars. You're more like, $800 billion, darling. So let me buy you the ring."
"Fine. But I'll pay you back." Ella said, laying her head on Zayn's shoulder.
He kissed her forehead. "You want to know how you can pay me back?"
"Yeah"
"Wear the ring, and that'll be perfect."
"That's not paying you back."
"Yes, doll. It is. You even wanting to be Mrs. Malik is enough. So we'll call it even, yeah?"
She sighed, "Alright."
"Good. Now, quit whining and let me go buy your ring."
