Amelia stared at her reflection, mentally debating on changing for the however many times. She had her dress on for the ball, now looking at it though, she wasn't sure how she liked it now.
It was a blue strapless ball gown, little darker blue flowers and green stems decorating the entire dress. Her hair was curled with big loose curls, a flower crown embedded in her hair as she took a deep breath. She had on a pair of short heels on, a strap around her ankle.
She truly was excited, especially since they were all going as a group. Calum and Kris had seemed to start to mend things, and the group cut Kris a break after Amelia asked them too. Everything felt like normal again, and that's all she wanted.
She caught a glimpse of the time, her eyes widening as she cursed under her breath. She picked up her dress slightly on both sides, rushing out of her room and headed downstairs. Her mom and Kris were waiting, her mom tearing up when she saw Amelia.
"You look beautiful." She managed to choke out as she held back a few tears, giving her daughter a tight hug. Once she was released, she kissed her head and the three of them climbed in the car. Her mom drove the two girls to the ballroom downtown, Amelia starting to grown nervous on the way there.
"Hey," Kris whispered, Amelia turning her attention to the other. "Ashton is gonna lose his mind when he sees that dress on you. Even Luke probably will." She slyly slid in the last bit, a smile appearing on Amelia's lips as she rolled her eyes at her best friend. "Just saying."
Amelia chuckled quietly before leaning in toward her best friend to tease her. "I bet Calum will be breathless seeing you in yours as well."
Amelia snickered, the blush on Kris' face satisfaction enough for the other girl.
They soon pulled up to the building, Amelia's mom parking in the front. She looked back at the girls, chewing at her lip, a habit Amelia got from her mother. "I'm gonna say this one time and you two will listen. I'm gonna give you my credit card for the night. You can get a hotel room and Ashton can get one for him and his buddies, you girls enjoy tonight. It's important to make memories while you're young, so please, enjoy being young tonight."
The two girls gave the woman a hug, Amelia pocketing the card into her wallet. "Thank you." They both told her, giving a proper goodnight before exiting the car. They stood outside, staring up at the large staircase that lead to the doors.
Amelia felt nerves bubbling in her stomach, knowing very well that Calum and Kris would want their own hotel room. So, Ashton and Amelia would have their own too.
She picked up the sides of her dress, beginning to make her way up to the doors, Kris next to her. Both girls were nervous about seeing the boys in question, wondering if they looked good enough, which they did.
When they entered the doors, they started down the hallway to get to the ball room. They paused when they got up to the door. They glanced at one another, sucking in a deep breath. Kris entered first, no doubt catching Calum's eye. They united halfway and Calum didn't hesitate to kiss her right in front of everyone.
Amelia stepped in, smoothing out her dress as she looked around, her eyes landing on his hazel ones not too long after. He was already staring at her when she caught him in her vision. A simple action that warmed her heart.
She smiled at him, his lips twitching up to match hers. The two stood there, quite a bit of distance between them, yet, they were saying everything without saying anything. Amelia was the first to start walking his way, him quickly moving so he'd meet her in the middle.
When she got to him, he pulled her into a hug, her arms enveloping around his neck. "You look, gorgeous." He whispered into the girls ear, a blush starting to coat her cheeks.
