I got woken up to my phone ringing off the hook, a scowl forming on my lips as I picked up the call. "Yes?" I snapped, hearing a pause on the other end before I heard a hesitant voice.

"Uh, Amelia? Its Luke." I heard his voice, my scowl fading as I felt a tad bit of guilt forming in my chest. "Sorry, I um, we actually, we wanted to invite you to come bowling with us — were you sleeping?"

I bit my lip as I pulled back my phone to see it was now two in the afternoon. "Uh, yeah, sorry. I guess I ended up falling back asleep. When?"

"When what?" I would've laughed if I wasn't just now opening my eyes. I yawned quietly before he spoke again. "Oh! I can pick you up in twenty? If you're not ready though, its okay I promi—"

"Make it thirty?" I pleaded, my voice quiet as I slowly climbed out of bed. I needed a shower before I went anywhere.

"Yeah! I'll be there in thirty." We both exchanged goodbye's before I ended the call and made my way to the bathroom. As I stood in the shower, my mind drifted a bit, causing me to stare into space.

I came back to reality when I heard a ding from my phone, a text from Luke.

From: Luke
Be there in 5

"Shit!" I hissed, grabbing my loofa before hurriedly scrubbing my body. I rinsed fast, deciding to wash my hair later tonight, practically bolting out of the bathroom.

When I got to my room, I slammed my door shut and rushed over to my closet. I grabbed a random pair of black shorts and a random band tee I had 'borrowed' from Kris' brother one night, tugging it on as quickly as I could. I yanked a brush through my hair before throwing on my black beanie on top of my mess of hair.

I rushed back to the bathroom, grabbing my toothbrush and rushing through brushing my teeth. My phone chimed, my hands pausing to grab my phone from my pocket and saw Luke had texted me, letting me know he was outside. I ran downstairs, sliding my vans over my socks before I was out the door.

I saw Luke's car in the driveway, smiling slightly at him through the window before I climbed in his front seat. "Hey, sorry if you were waiting." I apologized quickly, tugging the seatbelt over my body.

He shook his head, waving his hand as he put the car in reverse. "I was barely waiting, you're fine really."

I nodded, letting out a deep breath as I leaned back against his seat. I heard Luke clear his throat, my head turning to look at him. "Listen, I wanted to clear some air about all that's happened." My eyebrow raised as I tried to catch on to what he was talking about. "I think you're great truly, but.. I'm not the, uh, boyfriend type?"

My eyes widened a bit as I realized he was trying to make sure I wasn't reading into the hook-up. I began laughing hysterically, Luke sneaking a look as his face changed to confusion. Once my laughter died down some, I shook my head at him. "Oh, you big doof. I'm not looking to jump into something with you, Luke. You've become one of my best friends."

When I realized how bad that sounded, I started stammering to find a way to say I didn't mean it like that. "Thank god." He breathed out, chuckling after as he ran his hand through his hair nervously. "I thought you'd hate me for that."

I nudged his shoulder playfully, rolling my eyes with a smile. "Trust me, no harm done, Lukey Pukey." He scowled at the nickname I had given him after seeing him puke at one of the parties, my laughter beginning again.

"Fuck you." He mumbled, a hint of a smile at his lips as we pulled into the bowling alley, my smile widening when seeing all our friends going inside. "Also, none of them know you're coming. I wanted it to be a surprise? Plus, they thought you needed more time so they told me not to call." He sheepishly smiled, both of us climbing out of the car.
