"Run me, in circles. Like you always do." I sang softly, Luke playing the gentle melody on my keyboard as he joined in a little to give my voice some depth. "Mess with me, on purpose. So I'll hang onto you."

He focused his attention back to just the keyboard as I started the bridge. "I know what you mean when you act like that, but you don't know its breaking my heart. Said that it was just never gonna happen, then almost—" My lyrics were interrupted by Luke's phone suddenly ringing loudly, making both of us jump and stop what we were doing.

He grabbed his phone, frowning at the screen as he swiped to answer. "Yeah?" He mumbled, standing up from his seat before he walked over to the middle of my room. "Yeah." He glanced over at me before making a 'mhm' sound. "Okay, yeah, yeah, bye." He pulled the phone from his ear as he looked over at me. "You need to get ready, we're going to party. Michael rented a cabin for the next couple days and we're all staying down at the beach."

I furrowed my eyebrows, looking over at the messy collection of sheet music on my desk, then back to Luke. "What about the song?"

"What about it?" Luke asked, tugging his leather jacket back on as he glanced my way. "We've got the music done, and all we need to do is really just sing it through a few times, which we can do when we get back. We'll be back in time to do so. We'll get back the day before, so, we can run through it all day the day before and even practice a little before the concert."

"What about the other instruments?" I asked quietly, looking over at music sheets. "We still haven't finished the other sheet music, just the keyboard."

Luke waved me off, shaking his head a little. "I'll teach the tech which parts to play the sound board and we're good to go." He told me, my eyebrows furrowing at how simple it truly was. "Pack a bag and get ready, then we'll head to my house so I can get my shit before heading up to the beach house."

"I still have to ask my mom." I reminded, him groaning quietly as I stood and headed to the door. "Give me five." I grinned before heading downstairs to see my mom sitting at the table. "Hey momma." I said softly, kissing her cheek as she smiled at me.

She sat down the papers she was looking through before turning her attention to me. "Hey, baby. How's the song coming?"

"Its good, really good. We're just about finished honestly." She looked at me a little in surprise but nodded slightly. "I was wondering though, if I could go away a few days with my friends to a beach house they all rented?"

She looked extremely hesitant as she took a deep breath. "I don't know, Mel. Your concert is right around the corning and so is the wedding. Is now really the best time to go away?"

I frowned a little, pulling my best pout on my lips as I looked at her. "Please? Everyone's going, even Ashton!" I tried, her face still super hesitant. "Its just a couple days, I'll be home the day before the concert."

She sighed, rubbing her face as she took a minute to think about it. "Fine." She said, me squealing and pulling her in a tight hug. "But, if you do, the day after the concert, you're helping me with the table decorations!"

"Okay!" I told her before rushing back up the stairs and into my room, Luke whipping around to look over at me with a questioning gaze. "She said yes!"

Luke cheered, running over to pull me in a tight hug, lifting me slightly as he spun around. "Woo! Thank you mama Irwin!"

I rolled my eyes at him, laughing as he finally sat me down. I grabbed my overnight bag, stuffing random outfits in before grabbing clothes and stripped from my original pajamas. I tossed on the white cropped top that said 'baby' in simple black letters, and a pair of black jean shorts. I let my hair down, running my brush through it before looking over at Luke with a grin.
