After they had gotten home the next day, Ashton, Calum, Kris, and Amelia all hung out at Ashton and Amelia's. They had sleepovers for two nights.

It was filled with laughs, new inside jokes, and a shit ton of movie marathons. They left the house once to go have dinner at the diner the night her mom wasn't going to cook but that was about it.

As the four grew closer, Amelia and Ashton fell more in love. The two of them started becoming inseparable, being careful to keep every emotion for one another at bay whenever their parents were around. However, when they weren't, the two couldn't keep their hands to themselves. They were constantly cuddling, kissing, or playing around.

They began to act like a couple would, mindful of the fact that either parent could come in Amelia's room at any time.

The four of them stayed in Amelia's room, all of them sleeping in her bed. When Calum and Kris would fall asleep though, Amelia and Ashton would sneak off into Ashton's room to have heated make out sessions.

There were a couple times where it almost became too heated but they quickly stopped. It was an unspoken agreement to wait until the timing was perfect.

It felt like they were on a high, and they weren't coming down anytime soon.

Until, everything fell apart.

Amelia got the call on Tuesday afternoon. Her aunt Julia, whom she hadn't spoken to in nearly ten years, called her crying. She told Amelia about her fathers passing, completely rocking Amelia's world.

"He passed, Amelia, yesterday morning. He didn't suffer, he went peacefully. We're gonna hold a service down here in Perth next Saturday. I really hope you can make it."

It was now Saturday. She climbed out of the bed in their hotel room, walking over to the bathroom. Amelia had been silent and closed off since she found out. Kris had gotten the okay to finish her summer out in Melbourne and Amelia had no reaction. That's when they all knew she wasn't okay.

She washed her face, looking up at her reflection in the mirror. She looked like hell, and she felt like it too. It was weird, she really didn't know her dad anymore, yet, it feels like a piece of her was just ripped away.

Sure, she remembered her dad. He was around until she was about seven, so she had memories of him, she just really didn't know who he was as a person anymore.

She tore her eyes away from her reflection, grabbing the black dress that was hanging up in the bathroom and stripped from her clothes. She took a deep breath, stepping into the dress and tugged it up her body, sliding her arms in the straps.

The small actions made her even more exhausted than she already was.

She left the bathroom, Kris and her mom standing there with concerned looks on their faces. Amelia ignored them, walking over to her luggage and pulled her black flats out, dropping them to the floor and slid them on.

She didn't speak a word as she left the hotel room, going to the elevator, her mom, Kris, and Ashton rushing to get on behind her. She didn't say anything to them, her eyes blankly staring ahead.

When they finally made it to the car, she pushed her headphones in her ears, avoiding eye contact with anyone and stared out the window.

She was hurting, but she felt silly for it. She barely knew him, she shouldn't feel sad about his death. But she did. It shook her to her core ever since she heard the news, not even Ashton could get her to come out of her room or talk.

It felt like a cloud of grief was hanging over her head, constantly getting her wet even when she put on dry clothes.

When they pulled up to the funeral parlor, Amelia sank in her seat. She hadn't seen him in forever, now she's gonna see him in a casket.
