"You were around me but were you with me? you saw my pain but did you feel it, you heard me but were you listening"
"excuse me, would you people like to have some soup, it will be on the house"
Everyone came back into reality after listening to these off toned words from the waiter, and they were so much into her story that their mind refused to respond for a few minutes, and not even a single person present at the table could answer such a simple question and they acted like they never listened to him, the waiter took the silence for no and walked away from their table shrugging his shoulder after looking at another waiter.
No one anticipated such answer from her, everyone knew vera was a woman of few words, but no one knew that heart knows millions of stories she kept hidden under that straight harmless face, except people who were part of that story, everyone was either carrying tears in their eyes after listening to her story or was on the verge of doing it, Prachi was off guarded and sitting calmly with her head low so that no one will see the guilt dancing in her eyes and Rudra was starring at vera, with his hands clenching over the glass and his eyes carrying millions of dark emotions.
Mohit was totally wasted and started crying and whining
mohit:" oh no mam, I am so sorry, oh god you have suffered so much,"
Nitin: I can't believe people like this exist in our world, I felt so ashamed to breathe in the same air as them
Before anyone could say anything further or utter any another word filled with sympathy vera chose to speak again
vera:" sir mujhe lgta hai apko apne swal ka jwab ache se mil chukka hoga ab"
She stare back into Rudra's eyes and grabbed her bag and left the table, Nitin was about to follow her but he received a call from the hospital and they were demanding him back in the hospital due to an emergency.
She walked out of the restaurant with her cheeks flushed red and eyes filled with tears she was wiping tears again and again as were stopping them from coming outside she didn't want to do this, she didn't want to tell her sad and sober story to everyone he made her purposefully do that, she was feeling so vulnerable and week but before she can go any further someone grabs her wrist
" stop"
She looked at her wrist and then at the person who was holding it and on seeing Rudra she tried to pull it free of his control, she stare at his eyes only to find tears in it, and redness due to anger, their breathing was visible in the form of smoke, his hands were warm on her cold wrist, it was cold out there but more than cold there was bitterness in the air, there was anger, their faces were barely visible in the light of the broken streetlight
Vera: "what now, didn't you get your answer, or do you want to know more"
Rudra: yes, I want to know do you really hate me that much?
Vera: yes, I do, I hate the sight of you, I hate everything about you, you ruined my life back then because of you I lost my world my grandma and you are still trying to ruin my life
Rudra: ab mene esa kya kia hai
Vera: zyada bhole mt bno, sb pta hai mujhe tum or prachi milke phir meri zindage mai nya toofan lana chahte ho
Rudra: vera listen I don't know anything, about your allegations
Vera: to kyu gye the tum mere papa se milne, what was the receipt of visiting hours was doing in your pocket, and I heard your conversation with Prachi too about not regretting anything you did to me, and you still have the nerve to deny all this
