she turns back to face her baba, set her eyes directly on him, and reply in a subtle tone with bearing
no expression at all
vera: my father is already dead baba
before her baba could say anything she again twirl her heels, shows him her back.,wears her shades and with fast stomping, steps walked away as fast as she could as if she was attempting to escape from something, she get inside her car and drive away, closed the door with a jerk, her baba was still standing in the parking lot watching her car getting out of his sight slowly, he sighs heavily and once vera's car disappear from a sight he once again walks inside the NGO placing his hands inside his pockets
she drove directly to the hospital, where the deceased was being postmortem she meet with Mohit in the lobby at the hospital, he was doing some paperwork when he spot vera entering and they both walked together to the forensic lab, discussing the progress of the investigation
vera: so what is the result of an autopsy?
she asked him a direct question without wasting time so she could calculate rest of progress and with how much she still need to deal
Mohit the result will be out in half an hour
he replied in a low tone, as he was tired , because since the morning most of the things were being handled by him
vera: ok where is the deceased's mother
she pins him with another question
Mohit: she is sitting there
he said pointing at one of the benches in front of a few wards, where a lady was sitting calmly
vera: ok I am going to meet her, let me know when the result come
on this he slightly nod and went in the another direction still carrying few documents in his hand
Mohit: ok mam
he replied while shoving his back to her
vera went to her mother she was sitting on a bench in one corner, with her face downward eyes facing the floor and her hands were resting on her lap intertwined into each other, she was looking tired and pale and her hairs were all messy and she was wearing dul clothes. tears were rolling down her cheeks, she was sobbing lightly and feets were crawled on floor
vera sits beside her sticking her eyes on her
vera: mam I can understand that .... this would be a little difficult for you
she sympathised with her in a low calm voice while resting one of her hand on her shoulder
her mother: the mistake is mine only
she replied in a low, voice filled with utmost sadness and a mixture of guilt and regret, while still looking downwards as if she was trying to find answer of her complications on floor
she was just 20 years old,20, and owing to me she had to face all these responsibilities, i was way too busy managing my own life that I never care enough about her, I never focus on her
she continued and then looks toward vera her eyes were filled with many emotions some of which vera was aware of but some totally unknown to her, they were the eyes of mother which she had never seen
she never lived for her herself, was just living for me and managing all the responsibilities of the house
she continued, she was sobbing really hard, her breath was shaky and hands were trembling
she was not like another girl, she never demand anything, never complained about anything, was just suffering alone
only if I was just a little good mother she wouldn't have died, i even couldn't tell her that i can't live without her, that she is the best daughter one could ask for, that i need her
she was very young when her father left us on our own , she never question me about anything after seeing how other fathers love them
i didn't know that she was dying from inside, that had a storm and buried feelings inside her, which drowned her
vera: please mam, handle yourself
she comfort her and rub her hand slightly but before she could say anything more, Mohit called her. Rudra also come there, who may be just arrived at the hospital
rudra and vera in unison: what happened?
mohit: the result.. it came and its suicide
he eye her mother and tell them in a slow shaky voice ,her mother also listen that and she start crying loudly while beating her chest, while saying " this all is my mistake"
vera took her hand in her and said while patting it with her hand in a reassuring tone
vera: mam it's not your mistake
she repeated herself
her mother: no,, it's my mistake because of me she died, she did suicide because of me
vera: but your daughter hasn't committed suicide someone murdered her
she said loudly, loud enough for everyone to hear, including Rudra and Mohit, and this shocked everyone present there
her mother: but reports
vera pat her hand again
you believe me don't you, I am not lying someone murdered your daughter and he will be behind the bars soon
rudra looked at the deceased mother and said
Rudra: excuse me
and he gets a hold of one of vera's arms, makes her stand from her position, and starts dragging her from there to hospital's lobby with him, he seems really angry very angry , vera was taken back by his actions and tries to free herself from his hold
vera: what the hell, leave me
he loose his hold on her arm and pushed her in front of him
rudra: i can totally understand that you wanted to make her mother feel good and wanted to sympathised with her but i didn't expected you to lie , for god's sake show some professionalism
vera: lie, what lies?
Rudra: that it is not suicide and murder, are you blind, can't you see reports, she did suicide got damn can't you get this
vera: she didn't
she insisted
Rudra: where's the proof?
he demanded
vera: i don't have evidence yet but i can prove it
Mohit also came there and start starring at them in a shock
Rudra: are you nuts or what , you are not sure yourself and you gave her mother false hope that her daughter was murder
vera: I can explain everything sir but you want evidence and i need time for that
Rudra: ok i give you time till tomorrow
