I turned on the shower, watching the red-stained water spiral down the drain. None of it was mine. It belonged to the man whose life I had ended hours ago.

When every trace and smell was gone, I stepped out and wrapped myself in a bathrobe. I dried my hair, went through my usual skincare routine, and walked out of the bathroom.

The second I entered the room, my body tensed.

Someone was inside.

My eyes snapped toward the figure casually sitting on my bed.

"Logan."

The fighter from my clan leaned back like he owned the place.

"What are you doing here?" I asked coldly. "Shouldn't you be in America?"

"And miss the chance to drag you home?" he replied lazily.

His gaze flicked toward the packed suitcase beside the bed.

I closed my eyes in frustration. "You've got to be kidding me. I already said I'm not going back."

"Well, CC, you don't exactly get to avoid your family forever."

"I'm not avoiding them," I snapped. "I just don't want to see them."

He stood and walked closer. "Odessa gave me two options. You come willingly..." His lips curved slightly. "Or I bring you back myself."

I scoffed. "Good luck with that."

Before I could react properly, he moved.

Too fast.

Something sharp pricked my arm.

"You still need training," Logan muttered.

My vision blurred instantly.

"You—" I hissed, struggling against him as he caught me before I hit the floor. "You absolute—"

Darkness swallowed the rest.

When I woke up, my head was pounding.

I sat upright immediately, recognizing the room around me.

A private jet.

Of course.

"Rise and shine," Logan's voice came from across the cabin.

I glared at him. "Are you still wondering why I hate you?"

He smirked without looking up from adjusting the sleeves of his white shirt. "You don't hate me."

"I definitely do."

"That's not what you said last time."

I rolled my eyes so hard it hurt.

"The plane lands in four hours," he said casually.

Only then did I notice the oversized shirt and skirt I was wearing.

My eyes narrowed dangerously.

"Tell me you didn't change my clothes."

"I didn't wanted you to be naked."

"You're unbelievable."

"And yet," he replied with a grin, "you keep surviving me."

I threw a pillow at his face.

He caught it easily.

"Violent today, aren't we?"

"You drugged me."

"For your own good."

"That's the worst excuse I've ever heard."

Logan walked over and sat beside me, close enough that I could smell his cologne.

"You really planned to stay in Australia forever?" he asked quietly.

"I was doing fine."

"You were hiding."

My jaw tightened.

He always did that—saw too much.

"You don't understand anything," I muttered.

For once, Logan's teasing expression faded.

"Maybe not," he admitted. "But I know you shouldn't be alone."

The words caught me off guard.

Before I could respond, he flicked my forehead lightly.

"Don't look so shocked. It's annoying."

I shoved him away instantly, but he only laughed.

"You're impossible," I said.

"And you still like me anyway."

Heat rushed to my face immediately, which only made his grin wider.

"I hate you."

"Sure you do, Cecile."
