When the Coast Guard didn't listen to John B, JJ and Coli what they thought, there was too long line of people who all had to report things, the group decided to go to the motel where the key was. To find out who owned the sunken boat.

When John B stopped the HMS pogue in front of the old, dilapidated, sketchy motel, everyone else took where they were about to board.
"I thought the Châtheau looked bad" JJ whispered to Brooke, who chuckled
"This place is a shit show," John B told his friends
"Motel or math lab?" asked the Haywart boy
"You're the judge" Kie giggled
"I'd be happy if we had a place to stay at all," Brooke said
"Don't be dramatic, we still have our old house" Coli replied
"Yeah, but if Dad had sold that, we wouldn't have had enough money to stay somewhere by now," Brooke explained.
"Know that you are always welcome at the Château" said John B, squeezing Coli's hand reassuringly
"But this place doesn't look like anyone would stay with a Grady-white," continues the Routledge boy
"Indeed, it looks more like a place where someone with a Grady-white would be killed" Brooke said jokingly, as Pope hit her on the arm with a look of 'you can't laugh at that' which she answer with "You only live once Popie" The Haywart boy said Sirius "I want to make the most of that life too"
"all right" JJ said to stop them "Here we go. this is your captain speaking. HMS pogue comin' for landing. Whoo!" JJ mocking a walkie-talkie, and jumping to land to get ready to tie off the boat. Brooke went over to hand him the rope
"thank you Rux"
"We good?" The Routledge boy asked
"Yeah we good" JJ nobbed
"All right, here goes nothing" John B says getting ready to head off to find the matching door that fits the key.
"Hey" Coli caught the boy's attention before he got off
"Yeah, Lina?" John B asked
"Don't let him do anything stupid" Pope warned, pointing at JJ
"oh, we will" JJ said, which made Brooke laugh.
"I'm not making promises" John B shrugged.
Coli wants to give the key to John B but just as the boy is about to take it from her she pulls it back "uh, just be careful okay?" Coli said worried and warned
Her sister comes and stands next to her older sister and takes the keys from her hand and gives them to John B "We mean it" she says with a Sirius face
John B nods at her and gives Coli a quick smile. Then he and JJ go to the motel
John B pov
"Why are all these mattresses out?" John B asks
"After a hurricane, they ditch em cause they're modly. Just be careful, John B" JJ grasps his friend around the shoulders teasing him about what the outste Jones girl had previously said.
"God, you're so weird" John B pushed JJ's head away
"What was that about?" JJ asks
"I don't know, maybe she wants us to be careful" John B shrugged.
